President’s Note
Happy New Year!
Earlier this month we held our annual meeting and holiday party. A review of the officer reports
tells it all, we had an exceptional year of activities and fun! With the broad array of activities we
offer, we have something for everyone: fairs, swap meets, breakfasts, tours, ice cream runs, trips
to farms/museums, and more! We even sandwiched in 3 new events this year… Sturbridge
Village, Lebanon Country Fair and the Fall Foliage run! Now, with the winter months upon us
we should take the opportunity to do inspections and repair work so that we may have worry free
travels once Spring arrives!
All current officers were reelected to serve for another year. Of special note however, we have
two new volunteers for taking over both the Newsletter and the Web Administration jobs. My
thanks to both Stefanie and Chuck for their interest and willingness to serve the club in these
ways. I thank all of you who have contributed articles and/or pictures over the last three years
and ask that you continue your support for Stefanie & Chuck. They may be reached via the email
address of: [email protected] and will be assuming these responsibilities beginning
with Februarys newsletter.
Please note that dues are due. If you haven’t already paid, the form is attached at the end of this
newsletter. Checks must be made out to Ed Tollman and mailed to the address on the
membership form. I would like to have our 2014 roster completed and sent to “National” by the
end of Jan so please don’t delay.
Hope everyone has a Safe and very Healthy, Happy New Year!
And, as always…
HAPPY MOTORING!
Pete

- We heard from Stefanie & Chuck… “Pete and Nancy have been doing a great job over the
years with the FSMTA website and monthly newsletter. They’ve kept the club members well-
informed of events and happenings, and shared countless photos and stories. As of 2014, we (Stef
and Chuck) will be taking over the duties of ‘web administrator’ and ‘newsletter editor’ and we
hope we can do just as fine a job as our predecessors. We welcome any suggestions, submissions,
photos or critiques, and request that anything you’d like to see in the newsletter or on our
website, be sent to us directly.
Happy New Year to All, and here’s to another great year of being ’all about having fun’!
Stef and Chuck”

- Ray & Laura reported on their annual trip to Stockbridge MA… “We had a good weekend in
Stockbridge. We went up Saturday afternoon. We did the Christmas Carol singing in front of the
Red Lion Inn that evening.
The concert we had hoped to attend at a local Church was sold out. Note to selves, reserve tickets
ahead next year! Today we did some shopping in the morning. At 11:00 AM they opened the
3
parking for the re-enactment of Norman Rockwell's painting. They close Main Street for car
traffic from 12 to 2:00 PM. We got a choice spot, check out the attached photo.
The attendance seemed down to us. We didn't see the YYCC folks that we saw last year?
We had lunch at the Red Lion Inn, it was very busy. Food was good.”
Best regards,
Ray Gravelin & Laura Curley

- Not only were we busy throughout 2013, look
where Ambulance 255 has been. Impressive!
George wrote: “2013 was the second year
of appearance for Ambulance 255. It started
in January and ended in November.
Many of these events conflicted with other

- For the third year in a row, Bob Geer has won first place in the Ledyard Light Parade. And, it’s
no wonder! Great job Bob, but now what are you going to do for next year?
