Let's start with the biggest, or most common feng shui challenges in a modern bedroom.

MOST COMMON FENG SHUI BEDROOM CHALLENGES:

Mirror Facing the Bed

You probably know thata mirrorfacing the bed is a big feng shui red flag, or a feng shui "NO!" for a

good bedroom. Either a mirror from aclosetdoor, a mirror from a piece of furniture or a free standing

Bed Under A Sloped CeilingWhen you spend time under a sloped ceiling, your energy is being heavily constricted and is under

itself, sleeping under a sloped ceiling restricts this work, thus one's health may suffer. Sleeping in a

What makes a great feng shui bed? Three things:1. Good headboard. While you are drifting off to sleep, your body is going into a very complex and

busy energy repair work on many levels. Subconsciously, your head needs good

backing,protectionand support, just like your back needs it when you are sitting in a chair for

extended periods of time.

Best feng shui headboards are the ones that are solid and made from wood, or the upholstered

ones, as they have a very good combination of solid, but also gentle and supporting feng shui

2. Good mattress. There is a variety of mattresses on the market, choose wisely and invest in the

Grounding and balanced energy on both sides (e.g. nightstands.)

No sharp angles/sha chi(from wall or furniture corners) pointing at you while you sleep.It is always smart to position your bed away from the walls that have electric appliances on either side

(the computer, the fridge, or the TV.) And, of course, it isbest feng shuito limit (or completely

eliminate!) the electrical appliances in your bedroom.

Now, do not get mad with me for saying that. And do not think this is impossible. It is quite possibleactually, and very, very healthy! For example, if you switch the electrical alarm clock for a batteryoperated one, you will considerably lower theharmful EMFs in your bedroom. And your body will thankyou!

Avoid a bed in line with the bedroom door, as well as any otherdoors- be they balcony doors, bathroom door, walk-

inclosetor patio doors.

If possible, place the bed according to your best, or lucky feng shui directions.Notice I did not start with thefeng shui lucky directionsfirst! Not even second.

When finding the best placement for your bed, you should always listen to the room, so to speak, and

experiment with the best bed placement. If you can have both best feng shui bed placement andyour

best directionsrequirements met, then great! If you can't, please do not worry and think your life is

going to be a mess (I am kidding here.)

Do not place your bed in a corner or angle the bed in a room just so that you can sleep facing your

best feng shui directions. And do not sleep in theliving roomjust so that you can face your best

directions!

Approachfeng shuilogically and practically, and, most importantly, in an empowered way. If your bed

cannot face your best feng shui directions, you can sure focus on facingyour lucky directionswhen

you work, watch TV, or eat dinner! Be creative and be smart, and know that there are solutions for

almost everything in feng shui.

Answer: There are several ways you can use the power of essential oils for good feng shui inyour

homeor office. I will share some basic feng shui tips with you in a moment.

However, before we look into the ways essential oils can creategood feng shuienergy, it is important to

have a basic understanding of what essential oils are and how to choose the best oils for feng shui

purposes.

In simple terms, an essential oil is an oil of the plant from which it is extracted, the pure essence of

it.

Be mindful about distinguishing essential oils from perfumed, or fragrant oils, which do not have the

same healing properties because of the synthetic oil content.

First,find out the propertiesof most popular essential oils and decide which ones you would like to

experiment with in your feng shui applications, and in which rooms in your home.

Your bedroom, for example, will definitely benefit from soothing sensual scents of rose, ylang ylang or

jasmine, while ahome officecan improve its energy with a good dose of peppermint and clary sage or

lemongrass in the air.

Once you have made your choice of pure essential oils for feng shui purposes, such aslavenderfor

purification and calming energy, or peppermint essential oil for clarity, how do you actually use them?

2. Airspray: Store-bought or Self-made. Spraying an essential oil mix into the air is the easiest, quickest way to change the

market - from love energy mists with soothing, sensual oils to travel jet lag mists to help strengthen your immune system.

If you want to make your own mix, all you need is a spray bottle, preferably glass. Next you fill the bottle with pure water

and add several drops of essential oil. Shake it and use it, it is that easy.

3. Products Containing Essential Oils: Candles, Incense, etc. Check some of our essential oil products -lavender

candleandlavender incense. It is important to read the ingredients and be sure the products you choose contain pureessential oils versus fragrant or perfume oils. Both the candles and the incense will have a slightly different scent because

of the combination of all ingredients. You will have to experiment and see what works best for you and your home. You

will also have to be mindful about choosing candles with healthy ingredients (more about feng shui use of candles).

shui bagua. One is the classical, or traditional feng shui school bagua, which is always defined

The other way of defining the bagua - called theBTB Schoolbagua, or the Western bagua - is

defined without taking into consideration the compass direction of the main door.

The truth is, each bagua has its merits, and it will not be correct for me, or anyone else, to

say which bagua is better. Both methods reveal intricate ways in whichthe energyworks inside

any man-made structure, be it a home or an office, as well as outside, be it your garden or a

big city park.

It is up to you to choose a style that feels more appropriate to you, that you feel better about.

The Western, or BTB School bagua is easier to apply, and many people achieve results with it.

The Classical, orCompass Feng Shui Schoolbagua requires to first take a compass reading, then

define the bagua. It usually takes several attempts to accurately define the classical feng shui

bagua.

In your feng shui applications, it is important to choose one bagua style and re-create your

How Do I Take the Right Compass Reading?The firstfeng shui compassreading is taken while inside looking out. Basically, you are inside

directly facing the front door. Now, it is very important to take several feng shui compass

readings, as often the reading varies because of the interference of electromagnetic fields.

Move closer, or away from the front door, take the compass reading from inside the house, then

take it from the outside (this is where you will have your back to thefront door.) See if there are

slight variations in the reading.

If there is a strong presence of iron and steel objects close to you, as in the door hardware, for

example, or if you are wearing a heavy metal watch or a belt with ornate metal work, this will

disturb the compass reading. You will need to take off your watch and belt or move away from

the door for a more accurate compass reading.

So, the reading is taken while you are facing out your main door, because you want to know

which direction your house is facing.

Once you have the feng shui compass reading you will need your floor plan. This will help you

accurately find the center, or the heart of the space, often also called the yin-yang point.

The first compass reading you will take when you are outside of your home looking out the main

door. As an example, let us assume that the first compass reading of your main door is 352.5.

For the second reading go inside your home, slightly move away fromyour main door, but still

look the same direction. Note the reading of your compass. This will be you second compass

reading and you might have 351.

For the third compass reading go further inside your house, but still face the same direction. This

is your third compass reading, and it will be slightly different, maybe it is 353.5.

Define the Most Accurate Compass Reading

Once you have three or more compass readings, you will define the most accurate reading of

your compass by finding the median number. Let us say you decided that the facing direction of

your house or the compass reading of your main door is 352.5.

When you have the compass reading of your home, you are ready to go to the next step,

anddefine the bagua, or the energy map of your home.

Once you have the compass reading and the floor plan of your space, you can easily define the

bagua. This will show you the location of different feng shui areas in your home or office. Each of
