TIP!

Objective

Define objectives to inform others what they will get from the

presentation.

To provide you with techniques to help you feel more confident as you deliver the sustainability (or any) presentation.

TIP!

Opening Activity (Icebreakers)

•Consider a poor presentation that you may have witnessed and jot down one factor that led to the low quality.

•Share your thought with a peer.

•After 2 minutes, we will share ideas as a large group.

Use icebreakers to warm up the group and help

them become engaged.TIP!

The 3P Approach toPowerful

Presentations

•Plan

•Practice

•Present

Rather then giving all the answers, ask

questions to stimulate the discussion.

TIP!

Three frameworks of impact

• Greening NYU’s operational impact

• Sustainability Education

• Research, new ideas and exportation of best practices.

Use these questions:• What is the training

suppose to accomplish?• Who is the audience?• How do they like to learn?

What medium will you use? • How much time will you

have?• Why should they care?

Plan to Engage Them

• All School– Sustainability Task Force– Administration

• School greening Groups• Student ClubsX

Be flexible when creating and presenting

the material.TIP!

Practice andReduce the Jitters

•Use positive self talk•Focus on those who like you. •Consider “what’s the worst that can happen?”•Think “Nobody is perfect.” Or “The audience is friendly.”•Release the stress by doing something physical. Also use your practice to fix mistakes &

ensure that your content meets the group’s

needs.
