Have you been discussing how to use Primary Provider, Associated User, and Responsible Provider roles? Do you ask yourself, “What are these fields, and how can they be used in our practice?”

Primary Provider is a field in the patient demographics. A Primary Provider should be the principal practitioner for the patient; the provider that the patient would identify as “their doctor”. This field is how the Meaningful Use Quality Measures attribute patients to providers.

Associated User is also a field on the SOAP Note. It allows the note to be assigned to any user (any user with the privilege to add or edit SOAP Notes). It can be used to move the note from one clinical staff member to another. Notes in Progress can be sorted or filtered by Associated User. Quickly find notes from the Quick View screen by filtering on your name.

Responsible Provider is a field on the SOAP Note. It is used to denote the provider treating the patient today. This is how the Meaningful Use EHR Use Reports attribute patients to providers.

Care360 Tips & Tricks - Roleplay!

Care360 On the Road

Care360 participated in the 2015 Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Annual Conference held October 11-14, 2015 in Nashville. The show floor was filled with activity as medical professionals came together to discuss challenges, trends, and solutions across the healthcare landscape. As

always, it was a pleasure to see and visit with many of you at the show. In addition to highlighting how Care360 can help streamline physician offices with technology solutions that increase efficiency and profitability, we also had the opportunity to catch up with old and new friends, share ideas, and discuss solutions.

2015 MGMA Annual Conference Recap

Our Quest Diagnostics team participated in the 2016 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference & Exhibition, February 29 - March 4, 2016 in Las Vegas. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet so many new people in the booth.

The HIMSS Annual Conference brought together close to 42,000 healthcare IT professionals, clinicians, executives, and vendors, offering over 300 education programs, numerous keynote speakers, thought leader discussions, and extensive networking opportunities.

If you attended HIMSS in Las Vegas, thank you for visiting us in our Quest Diagnostics booth. If we didn’t connect, we look forward to seeing you next time!

Meeting Meaningful Use in 20162015 was a challenging year for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive program. Providers in Stage 1 and Stage 2 were introduced to Modified Stage 2, which sought to integrate the Meaningful Use paths for providers of all participating years. Subsequently, there were significant changes to the program for all providers.

1. With the exception of first-time attesters, providers must report on a full year of usage. This means that your EHR reporting period begins January 1, 2016. Be sure your office is aware of the requirements and is meeting them from the start of the year. Care360 customer training is available in the Care360 Training Center. Select the “Upcoming” tab and register for our 2016 Meaningful Use Training webinars.

Key Aspects to Note

Important Meaningful Use RemindersMedicaid attesters for 2015 need to follow state sites closely, as many states have delayed their 2015 attestation period in order to align their attestation site with Modified Stage 2.

Reminder! June 30th is the deadline to submit 2015 hardship applications.

In 2016 all providers are required to attest to a single set of objectives and measures. This replaces the core and menu structure of previous stages. In order to monitor provider progress, providers seeking to meet Meaningful Use requirements in 2016 will need to upgrade to Stage 2 reporting options, if they have not already.

2016 is the last year that an eligible professional can begin participating in the Medicaid Incentive program.

First-year participants can collect $21,500 for adopting, implementing, upgrading or using an EHR. You can learn more about the Medicaid program by viewing this PDF from CMS.

2. Care360 EHR customers who are in Stage 2 for the first time will need to upgrade to Care360 EHR Meaningful Use Stage 2. Simply complete this form if you have not already done so.

3. All eligible providers are required to use 2014 Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT). Care360 EHR is 2014 ONC-certified. 4. Medicare stopped accepting new providers into the incentive program in 2015. While no incentives are available, Medicare providers who do not meet the requirements will be subject to payment adjustments.

5. Hardship exceptions may still be available for providers who are unable to participate in the program. You can learn more on the CMS Website.

We recently received input from a customer that it would be nice to get to know some members of the Care360 team, as putting a face with a name creates a richer customer experience. We wholeheartedly agree, and so we’ve added “In the Care360 Spotlight”, to introduce and highlight various members of our Care360 team.

In this edition of the Care360 News we are excited to introduce our Care360 Regional Sales Representatives, Carolyn Gruber, Charlotte Branch, and Evelyn Thomas. New Patient Flow Feature Introduced in Care360 EHR

On May 8th we delivered our latest product release, Care360 version 16.1. This release focuses primarily on customer-driven product enhancements, and we were fortunate to engage some customers in both visual and workflow reviews of the release components. We received some positive feedback that we were able to incorporate into the product.

Care360 version 16.1 includes enhancements focused on improving efficiency and streamlining workflow within your practice, primarily with our new Patient Flow feature. Patient Flow enables you to track a patient’s room, visit status, appointment time, and provider, and can be used to track patient movement throughout a single facility or a multi-facility organization.

Care360 Labs & Meds provides a customizable list of rooms and statuses, along with your organization’s provider list, which you can use to track a patient through their office visit. The new feature provides you with information (appointment time, status, room, and provider) about all patients who are currently being tracked in Patient Flow. Additionally, you can add or remove patients from Patient Flow, or update their information.

We are confident this new feature will help streamline your workflow, further promote patient loyalty, and drive efficiencies within your practice.
