Travis Rice Pioneers New Tricks and Technology in Season’s Most Anticipated Snowboard Film

“That’s It, That’s All.” releases worldwide this fall

Jackson Hole, Wyoming (July 30, 2008) – “That’s It. That’s All,” the groundbreaking snowboard film produced by Brain Farm arrives to viewers worldwide this fall. Travis Rice invites the world to join in the epic ride, as he and a dream team crew set out to find the new zones, tricks and a whole new perspective on snowboarding. “’That’s It, That’s All.’ is epic snowboarding meets Planet Earth,” explains Curt Morgan, President of Brain Farm. “The film is a visually stimulating piece of work that pulls in a wider audience by encompassing the most progressive riding in the world with unbelievable travel and nature footage.” In an attempt to push the progression of action sports films, “That’s It, That’s All.” raises the bar on both the level of athleticism and quality of production. For two years, producers Rice and Morgan traveled the world in search of conditions that capture the essence of snowboarding. This quest took the riders to New Zealand, Japan, Ger-many, Canada, Valdez, AK, Jackson Hole, WY and Mammoth, CA. Using the features found in these locations, Rice began inventing new tricks including the first landing of a double backside rodeo 1080 (spinning three times, while going through 2 inversions). Using state of the art equipment with access to a dream team of snowboarders, the producers created a visual snowboard film that redefines the genre. A dozen models of cameras were used during production including for the first time in core action sports, the Wescam 35, to film stable follow-cam shots on snowmobiles and the Cine-flex HD, to capture steady aerial shots from helicopters. “We put everything we humanly could into the production of this film,” said Travis Rice, Snowboarder and Co-Owner of Brain Farm. “Quiksilver and Red Bull stepped up to help us match top caliber riding with the highest possible production quality. Our hope is to showcase snowboarding in a whole new light.” “That’s It, That’s All.” includes the most unique footage ever shot of Travis Rice, Mark Landvik, Nicolas Müller, Terje Håkonsen, Jeremy Jones, John Jackson, Pat Moore, Scotty Lago, Bryan Iguchi, Jake Blauvelt, Danny Kass and many more. There are many ‘firsts’ in the film including the first landed attempts at a handful of tricks, first time in locations and the first full, professional quality HD core snowboard film. “That’s It, That’s All.” comes to DVD, Blu-ray™ and goes on tour in September 2008 with an iTunes release in October. TRAVIS RICE Snowboarder, Co-Founder of Brain Farm Hometown: Jackson Hole, WY Sponsors: Quiksilver, Red Bull, Lib Tech, DC, Grenade Gloves, Jack's Garage, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Bluebird

THE PRODIGY Considering the craggy peaks and steeps of Jackson Hole and his fa-ther’s employ as a ski patrolman, it’s no small wonder Travis Rice has carved a career charging death-

defying powder gaps and shirking inevitable dangers in the most hostile backcountry conditions. You could almost surmise this was all predestined, a predetermined path setup by fate and childhood surroundings—Travis, merely a passenger along for the ride.

The dichotomy of Rice lies is his penchant for powder and total control over all things hard packed. It’s a true marvel how a boy from the powder laden steeps of Wyoming could exhibit such a commanding and immediate mastery over pipe and park—yet Travis arrived at Snowboarder Magazine’s Superpark (an unknown poacher in 2000) and left as the event’s MVP and Absinthe Films’ newest film star. All it took was several backside rodeos chucked over a 100 foot-plus kicker that the reigning pro's wanted no part of. More amazing still, a brief, late-season stint in Alaska earned Travis the much-coveted opening segment in the snowboard film,”Transcendence,” and overnight iconic status. COMPETITION KILLER Virtually nameless in competition, Travis headed to the X Games and took down slope style favorites Kevin Jones and Todd Richards before taking the X Games gold home to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Once again, Travis had presented another aspect of his game: the uncanny talent for next-level performances in competition. The levy broke and Travis went on a competitive tear taking the U.S. Open quarter pipe title and second place in Big Air. Over the next two years Travis firmly established himself as a major threat in any competitive discipline with a laundry list of wins ranging from quarter pipe victor at The Arctic Challenge to rail jam champ at The Honda Session.

CHAD’S GAP Travis’ next display of power came in the form of an “unmakable” 120-foot Chad’s Gap in the Utah backcountry. “Chad” was a skier, and to date, a snowboarder had never attempted this mammoth leap of faith. Travis and Euro phenom, Romain DeMarchi, tirelessly toiled for three days constructing a massive takeoff. Coming up short wasn’t an option—it was simply make it or break it. Travis dropped first and entirely overshot the landing! A memorable and groundbreaking session featuring DeMarchi and Travis was the featured attraction in Absinthe’s “Pop”—and with it came a new benchmark for attainable airtime distance on a snowboard. GOING ONCE, GOING TRICE The Community Project marked a shift in direction for Travis. After filming numerous feature parts in the world’s best snow films, Travis and friends decided to strike out alone. Travis wanted to make a snowboard film that represented snowboarding from the riders’ perspective. So he removed the constraints of sponsor agendas. “I was absolutely involved in every aspect,” he asserts. “From the scripting and shooting to the packaging and the book that goes along with it.” As the project evolved, Oakley and Red Bull offered to help out with financing while ceding creative control to Travis and his team. Since the film’s release in September 2005, Travis has been overwhelmed by positive feedback – so much so that he’s ready to do it again. “If you asked me earlier, I would have said, ‘Hell no!’” he laughs. “But now we’ve regrouped to do something serious – something really awesome.” “That’s It, That’s All.” is a two-year adventure of globetrotting, powder plundering and power moves amongst friends slated for release in fall 2008. “With That’s It, That’s All.”, Travis and his crew have raised the bar even higher, “Trying to make a movie to our new standard in a single year would be too stressful. It defeats the purpose of the enjoyment of getting to travel and film.” INFLUENTIAL IN 07/08 At only 26, Travis is a perenial Superpark MVP and Rider of the Year regular and was recently deemed number 13 in Snowboarder Magazine’s ‘Top Twenty Riders of the Last Twenty Years.’ As seen in “That’s It, That’s All.” Travis wasted no time in 2007/08 locking down wins. He defended his Icer Air title with the first double backside rodeo 1080 in competition. Next up was the Nokia Air & Style in Germany where Travis couldn’t quite muster a clean double-cork stomp, landing just shy of the top 10. Finally, Travis flew to Tokyo, Japan to defend his Nissan X-Trial Big Air title. Travis easily smoked the competition on the quarter pipe with several different tricks landed cleanly

in the jam format, while placing second in Big Air with multiple double-cork variations. When the smoke had cleared Travis emerged the overall X-Trial champion as 35,000 fans applauded at the Tokyo dome.

NATURAL SELECTION True to form, this D.I.Y. athlete created his own contest in 2008: The Quiksilver Natural Selection, an all-mountain invitational at Jackson Hole. The cutting-edge event brought 17 of the world’s greatest riders to compete in a freestyle event – that’s right, no park or halfpipe. “We leave the course design to Mother Nature and let riders express themselves in an unpredictable

measure of true, raw talent,” says Travis. For optimal conditions the two-day event was spread over a seven-day “holding period” much like premier surf competitions. This way they had the best chance of optimum powder conditions. Travis explains, “To succeed here, riders must embrace the mountain on its own terms and get after it with respect, grace, artistry and fun. This is the return to the soul and roots of riding.” And a successful return it was, as media converged from around the globe for two mind-numbing days of explosive, “powderful” riding at Jackson’s Dick’s Ditch and Casper Bowl. When the powder settled Travis was the overall contest winner, but most importantly the sport was abuzz about future events with the new format. Once again Travis Rice has pushed snowboarding forward with a fresh take on performance, friendship, and fun. CIRCE WALLACE Senior Vice President of Wasserman Media Group LLC Executive Producer for “That’s It, That’s All.”

Circe Wallace got her start on the mountains outside of Seattle. Snowboarding became her first love. She won various northwest titles calling the ominous Mt. Baker her home hill. Riding with greats such at Mike Ranquet, Craig Kelly and Jamie Lynn, Wallace honed her skills going on to de-velop some of the first women’s specific snowboard gear in the market place. As the first Roxy snowboard girl, first girl to have a signature product with Vans (first boot built on women’s last) and a pro model board with Ride, she worked beyond her riding to progress the women’s space in the sport.

After various video parts, contest and ACL reconstructions, Wallace retired from professional snowboarding. From there she took her decade of in-depth action sports knowledge into the uncharted territory of sports management, where she could help up-and-coming athletes further action sports. Having worked in the agent and producer capacity for 10 years, Wallace has

managed the world’s biggest names in skateboarding including Eric Koston, Paul Rodriguez and Ryan Sheckler. Yet her heart remains with snowboarding. Managing Travis Rice for most of his career, she has executive produced projects including “Community Project,” co-created and produced this year’s Quiksilver Natural Selection and is proud to EP Travis’s newest adventure in film making, “That’s It, That’s All.”
