I’m Emma Rowell an artist from the UK, I

moved to Australia about 4 months ago and

absolutely love it, I’m feeling pretty excited

about the months ahead. I studied Drawing

and Image making at University for 3 years.

I’d consider myself as a Fine Artist who

constantly experiments with new ways of

working and trying out different medias.

For my recent work I have been looking

at quite dark images of skulls and trying to

create a more ‘angelic’ image. This notion of

drawing an image that is dark or unpleasant

and making it look innocent seems to

reoccur in my work.

In my spare time I love to draw or doodle,

I am currently working on ‘A Drawing a

Day’ project, which doesn’t respond to any

particular theme, I just draw whatever

reflects my day or maybe a specific

thought I’ve had.

Classic vintage ladies bikes are my

weakness, I think they are fantastic

bikes and look smart! It’s awesome

that they’re making a comeback
