Chapter2.Definitions

J. “Simulation”meansatechniquetoreplaceoramplifyrealexperienceswithguidedexperiencesthatevokeorreplicatesubstantialaspectsoftherealworldinafullyinteractivemanner.(Gaba,2004)

K. “Debriefing”meansanactivitythatfollowsasimulationexperience,isledbyafacilitator,encouragesparticipant’sreflectivethinking,andprovidesfeedbackregardingtheparticipant’sperformance.

6.4Simulation

Aprelicensure nursingeducationprogram(“program”)mayusesimulationasasubstitutefortraditionalclinicalexperiences,nottoexceedfiftypercent(50%)ofitsclinicalhourspercourse.Aprogramthatusessimulationshalladheretothestandardssetinthissection.

individualwhoisacademicallyandexperientiallyqualified.Theindividualshalldemonstratecontinuedexpertiseandcompetenceintheuseofsimulationwhilemanagingtheprogram.

C. Thereshallbeabudgetthatwillsustainthesimulationactivitiesandtrainingofthefaculty.
