We have learnt from our own experience that giving is more a joy than a sacrifice. So let’s keep ‘sowing generously’ so that we may ‘reap generously’ abounding in much thanksgiving to God! As we visit different churches and speak with many of our supporters, we have been challenged by a reoccurring question “Is the mission life a sacrifice?” So...what is a sacrifice? Something that you give up for the sake of others. We have had to let go of many things in the mission process. Looking back over the past three years, what we consider sacrifices have changed. When we first left our idea of ‘sacrifice’ were mainly the material things we had to leave behind. Now having completed our first term on the field, we see more clearly that the real sacrifices are less tangible - financial security, home friendships, Onglets’ face-to-face time with grandparents, choice of schools...just to name a few. In light of these, the material things no longer seem like sacrifices. Yet, if we were to weigh up the sacrifices against the joys that we have experienced thru the ups and downs of mission life, the joys definitely win hands-down. We have tremendous joy in ways we never expected through ministering to our friends in Malawi. The sacrifices definitely pale in comparison. If we were to do the last three years all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing.

Give thanks for three days of preschool for Caya!Praise God for Jesus the ultimate example of sacrifice. That he sees us as worthy of it.Give thanks that after a low few weeks, Jo is feeling better than ever with her depression.Praise God for the generosity of many which has enabled us to continue God’s work in Malawi.

Support levelsIt warms our hearts to know that there are many behind us supporting us in prayer and in finances. We are so thankful to God for your partnership in Christ which enables us to minister to those in need in Malawi. We have revised our support needs for our next term in Malawi and have decided on a two-year term, with three months in Australia for home assignment. Due to increased schooling costs, ministry needs, as well as the less-than-ideal Aussie dollar exchange rate, we are currently AUD$1360/month short of our support target. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact us.

Pray for Lucas who is exhibiting some anxiety/OCD symptoms from the transition.Pray for Kids Bible Club back in Malawi. Leaders are struggling with their commitment and leaving all the work to Dickson and a SIM short-termer.Pray for Caya as she settles back into school life after three months at home.Pray for Teaghan whose eczema has flared up and is making her upset and very self-conscious

... pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Phil 4:6 NLT

ONGLETS...on life in Australia and MalawiTeaghan: I like Malawi better because it is home in Africa and my friends are there. But Australia is fun. We went to the Koala Park and saw koalas and even got to feed kangaroos!

Lucas: I like Australia more better because there are lots of toys in Big W. But I kinda miss Malawi. I miss my toys, our cat Shadow, Dickson, Frances, Rachel... all the Zuzes! I miss my friends.

Caya: I like the kangaroos in Australia. But I miss our bunnies in Malawi... and Lyzee (another MK), my house, and my school.

A brother in needWe would appreciate prayers for our dear friend and brother-in-Christ Pastor Chisoni Bridge (Pete’s youth ministry co-worker) whose mum is being forced to leave her home in the village and is in urgent need to be rehomed. Chisoni was previously given a piece of land on which he is trying to build her a house. So far, he has managed to purchase the bricks required but is in need of another AUD$900 to transport the bricks, buy timber/iron sheets/cement, and pay for labour. Chisoni works hard in serving the youth of the AEC church and his wife is one of the Tiyamike graduands who takes in extra sewing to make ends meet. Please remember the Bridge family in your prayers. If you feel moved to help financially, we would love to hear from you.
