Siqura cameras offer true day/night and backlight compensation as standard features, as

The right tools for the task at hand: CCD or CMOS?
Even with top-of-the-line tools, you still need the right
equipment to get the most out of your system. With an
abundant assortment of surveillance cameras to choose
from, it can be difficult to decide what’s best for your system.
One selection criterion that might trip you up is which type
of image sensor to opt for: CCD (Charged Coupled Device)
or CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)?
In a nutshell, CCD sensors are more sensitive to light and
offer the best signal-to-noise ratio (SNR); CMOS image
sensors have a good SNR but are less sensitive to light. As
a result, CCD sensors tend to function better in variable
lighting conditions and generally offer better image quality,
especially in low-light conditions. A CMOS image sensor
can, alternatively, offer Full HD (1920x1080 pixels)
resolution whereas most CCD sensors are only capable of
HD (1280x720 pixels).
On the application side of things, the primary difference
between these two sensors is their sensitivity to light. When
selecting a camera, it is therefore important to take into
account whether you’ll be using the camera in varied or
controlled lighting circumstances.

The compression method used to stream and store video is

have its own benefits and drawbacks, H.264 is the newest
video compression standard, succeeding the well-known
MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and MJPEG. It currently offers the best
image quality available while at the same time reducing
bandwidth requirements, which is ideal for HD streaming

Ethernet switches and routers are the building blocks of an
IP network. Together, they dispatch data over the network to

Siqura i-NVR Compact
Siqura Operator Office™ is a live viewing application for security and surveillance
purposes. It enables the user - generally, an operator in a control room - to connect to one
or more remote locations in a video surveillance network and view up to sixteen live
streaming images on a standard desktop or laptop PC, or even more on a video wall.
Operator Office handles video, audio, data, and PTZ control, and allows simultaneous
monitoring of multiple locations with instant communication. Operator Office supports
MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MJPEG, and H.264 video formats, the use of two monitors (dual-
screen), and offers basic recording and playback functionality. Recording features include
functionality for pre-event recording and still image capture (snapshots).
Siqura Operator Storage™ is a viewing application for security and surveillance
purposes. It enables the user – generally an operator in a control room – to access a video
surveillance network, connect to a variety of equipment installed at one or multiple remote
locations, and view up to sixteen live streaming images on a standard desktop or laptop
PC, or even more on a video wall.
Operator Storage handles video, audio, data, and remote control traffic, allowing
simultaneous monitoring of locations with instant communication. The software
integrates seamlessly with TKH Security Solutions USA’s range of Siqura MPEG-2/
MPEG-4/MJPEG/H.264 video codecs, video servers, IP cameras, and i-NVRs.
The i-NVR Compact is a complete monitoring and recording system for 16 or 32 cameras
in a sturdy industrial PC. It supports scheduled background and alarm track recording
with configurable pre- and post-event duration. Tracks can be retrieved and exported to a
CD based on the camera name, time/date, event, and user-defined bookmarks. The
exported files are authenticated with a checksum to ensure content integrity. The i-NVR
Compact can simultaneously handle background recording for 32 streams, (live) viewing
of up to eight cameras, streaming of up to 32 streams, and event-driven recording while
executing all management tasks.
