    Origin The first or starting city on a journey.This does not mean your hometown. You may

    drive to Vancouver and fly home. Your originwould be Vancouver.

    Destination Often mistaken for point ofturnaround. The final or ending point on a

    journey. On a trip Toronto/Vancouver/Toronto,Toronto is your origin and Toronto is also yourdestination.

    Point of Turnaround The furthest pointfrom the origin. Often called destination.

    On the last example, Toronto is both theorigin and the destination while Vancouver isthe point of turnaround.

    It is widely accepted in the industry as thepassengers destination.

    Segment - A portion of an air itinerary fromboarding to deplaning point (includes

    connections). There are both outbound(origin to POT) and inbound segments(POT to destination)
