It seems like just yesterday we were kicking off the holiday season at the fantastic TLARGI Christmas Party in Costa Mesa. But, as usual, the holidays flew by and here we are in 2014—ready for another great year together in the rubber industry. Believe it or not, TLARGI turns 86 this year, and we’re fortunate to have a highly capable and motivated team of Board Members and Committee Chairmen prepared to lead us into another great year. It is an honor to serve the group as Chairman, and the Board will do everything they can to ensure that TLARGI continues to provide maximum value to you and your company. Our dinner meetings will continue to be held at the Phoenix Club in Anaheim. They have treated us well over the years, and it’s always a terrific venue—particularly for our ever-popular Technical Conference and Oktoberfest Mini Expo. Other events coming your way in 2014 are the Casino/Spouse’s Night (February 4), the Summer Conference in Palm Springs (May 30 to June 1), and multiple golf tournaments at beautiful courses across Southern California. And don’t forget our largest social event of the year, the 2014 TLARGI Christmas Party (only 319 days away)! Other benefits to look forward to include: the 2014 TLARGI Yearbook and Directory; technical meetings geared to keep us informed of advances and developments in rubber technology; placement services to assist members in finding career opportunities in the industry; graduate and undergraduate scholarships designed to develop and attract new talent; and lastly, the one-of-a- kind “Basic Rubber Technology Course,” a 20-week course tailored to develop local rubber industry members. To close, let me take this opportunity to encourage everyone to get involved in a committee this year. There are many ways to get connected—big or small—to continue to make TLARGI a premier vehicle for technical, commercial, and social networking and professional development. Our members are our greatest asset and they continue to be the driving force behind our place in the industry. Happy New Year and Welcome to TLARGI 2014!
It seems like just yesterday we were kicking off the holiday season at the fantastic
TLARGI Christmas Party in Costa Mesa. But, as usual, the holidays flew by and
here we are in 2014—ready for another great year together in the rubber industry.
Believe it or not, TLARGI turns 86 this year, and we’re fortunate to have a highly
capable and motivated team of Board Members and Committee Chairmen
prepared to lead us into another great year. It is an honor to serve the group as
Chairman, and the Board will do everything they can to ensure that TLARGI
continues to provide maximum value to you and your company.

OVERVIEW
Recent developments in acrylic polymer technologies allow us to highlight the improvements in service life obtained from new products commercially available to the market place. Improvements in heat resistance, automotive fluid resistance, including automatic transmission fluids and bio-fuels, stretch the usefulness and utility acrylic polymers have in application. We will explore the technology improvements obtained in selective acrylate monomer polymerization and cure site technology that serve to employ specialized cure chemistries to meet the ever-increasing requirements of application. This acrylic (ACM) option in material selection permits efficient deployment of economical designs in rubber article fabrication. ABOUT OUR PRESENTER
Rick is a graduate of Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, with advanced studies in polymer science. He has served our local rubber industry for more than 25 years in both fabrication and raw material supply. With R.D. Abbott Company, Inc., he contributes to the technical resources our local industry draws upon. He is a patentee holding several U.S. chemical patents in rubber technology and he teaches the “Basic Rubber Technology Course” for TLARGI.

Men will be playing from the white tees; women will be playing from the red tees. For men’s white tees: course rating 69.8; slope rating 124; and 6,181 yards For women’s red tees: course rating 69.1; slope rating 117; and 5,172 yards TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
Scoring For those that provide an SCGA number, your handicap will be used, based on your index. For those without a handicap, the Callaway Scoring System will be used to determine net score. (Note: All 1st and 2nd place will be eligible for TLARGI’s “Golfer of the Year.”) Prizes In addition to the “Hole-In-One” prize, awards will be issued for 1st and 2nd place, and other prizes will be issued for “Longest Putt” and “Closest-to-Hole” (for two par-threes). Dress Code Players must wear soft-spike shoes, a collared shirt, and slacks or Bermuda shorts. Players may not wear jeans, short shorts, or a t-shirt. COSTS
