I visited the land for abhaya Home of Happiness for Survey along with surveyor Mr.

Venugopal and his team. The site is surrounded by good environment, though it is little

far away from city. I understand the project execution may be costly affair. Site is on a

small hill with huge shrubs, while we were surveying the site we had faced much

difficulty with shrubs, stony area… we may need to go for blasting the stones, leveling

land with JCBs…etc. However it is located in a “feel good”

environment. I also met Mr.Ambadas, who is looking after the

Vinoba Nagar Development Society and its projects over there at the

100 acres of land, he is really nice person, his friendly nature

impressed me a lot.

Abhaya Value Center: This month we have decided to contribute

Rs.300 to Mission Vigneswara on savings from our monthly food

I got a chance to attend “Get Abhaya Meet “ at Abhaya and I interacted with Engineering

students who are interested to serve the needy, they shared their thoughts on

I had been to Bangalore along with Abhaya team to participate in Get together. We

visited many historical temples and science museum before attending the meeting in the

evening. I got an opportunity to met Abhaya trustees and volunteers who work for

Abhaya in Karnataka and I met Abhaya beneficiaries. I got to know the activities of

I feel every Abhayans fine with good vigor. I had an opportunity to be there at Get

Together at Bangalore and this is a first meeting which I attended, it is great experience

to me. The Founder interacted with youngsters, they having a passionate intense

thoughts in their deliberations and discussions. Grate synergy to be seen in all over there

in the meeting. Every beneficiary present there was holding a smiling face. I realized one

thing in my life that I must achieve my ambition and lend my hand of help those students

who are struggling to acheive their goal and also wish to do community work as a part of

my life.

I had an opportunity to meet Padmasri Dr. Saibaba Goud as abhaya Founder called me to

be there for an interactive meeting. He is a so passionate person servicing the

community work with a pure heart. Hundreds of blind children being supported by his

trust, Devnar Foundation for blind.

As usual I am focusing on my studies by making use of free time and involving practical

aspects and gaining knowledge which helped me lot.

I started my journey to persue MBA Course, I completed first year

with 60% marks, but my economic conditions could not support to

complete this. I was unable to write 3rd Semester. Except me every

student gave their exam in the college, this is situation of a middle

class student like me, however I never put myself down to the earth if

not today tomorrow I will take up this MBA without any support.

abhaya Vignan School update

Construction is in progressAs planned in the committee meeting, construction started at abhaya Vignan School, at

Yerragunta Village, Anantapur dist. The plan is to build extra class rooms by separating the

existing hall. The classes used to be run in a temporary partitions and it was very

uncomfortable to teachers and students to focus on lessons. The summer vacation for the

school is till 17th June. But the teachers will start canvassing for new admissions from 1st of

June. All these construction works are to be completed by the time school re-opens. Sewa

International US has granted Rs.50,000/- for abhaya Vignan School and abhaya also

sanctioned another Rs.50,000/- to the school this year matching the support of SEWA

International USA as per their condition.

Abhaya hosted a get together for Samrakshana/ Sirisha/ abhaya kids

It was time for the setting Sun and to have shade on the terrace. We all adjourned to

fruit salads were served. The Samrakshana/ Sirisha/ abhaya Children abhaya, the name itself appealed to me as the first impression :-)!! I met Mr. Harish and Mr. Satya from ID Sign Technologies, Hyderabad regarding Software

tool that we are developing. I spoke to them and explained all the pending things. They told

that they will look in to the application and come up with their observations soon. Both

Harish and Satya are positive about the work and expressed their interest to be part of good

work. It is great meeting with them. We hope the tool will be completed at the earliest with

their support & cooperation.

Saidulu/ Ramesh to start candle making

Abhaya spent months to contemplate on the right means of sustenance for Saidulu (kidney transplantation) & Jyothi (donated her

kidney to husband) ranging from ideas of paper plate making to the finalized plan of Candle Making.

Further considering sincere attitude of Ramesh (paralyzed beyond treatment and living on simple medication) who wish to support his

ailing mother and younger brothers who are right now taken care by abhaya at Vivekananda Vikasa Kendra, Hyderabad, the team

concluded that he can also be given training for candle making.

Abhaya will support both of them with initial investment of Rs.10,000 and on completing the training the families will be able to earn

about Rs. 40/kg and as a family can make at least 300 kgs of candles a month which would make them earn at least Rs.8000/- PM. This

income should suffice them to manage expenses and lead a more peaceful life.

Venkatesh lives in Seri Lingampalli, Hyderabad and drives an auto for his livelihood. He lost is two

hands and a leg in one accident and not in a position to do anything. His story was telecasted in

Vanitha TV's “Batukubandi”. Someone gave him the reference of abhaya foundation for possible

help. . Abhaya called him to meet in person along with the family members. As he cannot do any

work, thought to provide one auto, which he can run for hire, so that he can get Rs.250/- daily.

Abhaya readily sanctioned Rs.50,000/- and Venkatesh's brothers are asked to pool to the tune to

25 – 30K. When we enquire about the price, second hand auto with reasonably good condition is

costing around Rs.95,000/-. Venkatesh family members went to the owner and with abhaya appeal,

he got the auto at Rs.80,000/-. The action plan is to hire this auto to his brother and get income.

Future plan is to set artificial limbs to Venkatesh so that he can walk on live on his own.

A divine experience with Mega Creations

Couple of months back, abhaya was in need of T Shirts for Graduate/ Engineering

students who were visiting various colleges in the city spreading message of love

and service amongst the students/ lecturers. When contacted Mega Creations for

supplying 100 T Shrits, the samples were promptly shown and the order was booked

stating that the delivery must happen in 48 hours and the same was agreed by them.

Accordingly handed over Rs.7,500/- 50% advance by cheque considering their

words and promises. Where as they did not keep up their words and delivered the

material… whenever called them, there was no response. Abhaya team thought of

lodging a complaint against them and told the Accountant to record the amount as

gone case. But corner of the heart there was a hope that they would come back. It is

almost after 3 months when called them, they delivered the material stating that

reason for the delay was not malicious and sought pardon. Abhaya welcomed them

as if they are the family members and given heartily hospitality… they were happy to

know abhaya and promised to be with good work! though abhaya team spent lot of

time and energy in handling them while transacting, feeling satisfied for HAPPY
