What a wonderfully unique idea for keeping

your accessories! A mannequin is one of

the most convenient yet inventive ways to hang

your accessories. It even sheds some light on the

little DVD collection that rests before it.

Your Room

WHAT YOU NEED:• Two loo rolls • scissors • Glue • Cardboard or old calendar

cardboard • Paint and paintbrushes

STEP 1:Take a roll and start cutting along its length once. roll it into a smaller roll by overlapping the edges so that it fits inside the second intact roll. Bring it out and glue the overlapped edges together.

STEP 2:Cut small flaps around one end of the smaller roll and fold the flaps outward.

Glue the flaps onto some cardboard or an old calendar. Then cut around the edges of the flaps to give the roll a circular base. you are now left with what will be the container and the face of your desired character.

STEP 3:

Take the intact roll and do a rough sketch of your character’s mask on it. in this case, Antman from the Marvel universe would be a good one to start with. Cut away the important pieces

such as eye holes, ear holes or any other piece that shouldn’t be on your mask. if the mask has special features, say antennas or horns or initials, cut them out from leftover pieces of the roll and glue them into place.

STEP 4:repeat sTeP 2 on the end of your mask where you will place the scalp. This time make sure you fold the flaps inwards. Cut it out the same way you did before. you now have your character’s mask ready. Before you colour both rolls, slide the mask down on the smaller roll and draw out the facial features.

And voila! you now have your

favourite superhero that you can use to hide your things. slide out the mask and put candies you want to keep away from your younger siblings or the love letters you don’t want your mom to find. you can make almost any superhero, even super villains, following this process. it’s easy and at the same time you’re recycling. Now, isn’t that nifty? Nasif Chowdhury

Being perched on your couch or watching your favourite sitcom does sound like a good pastime. However, wouldn’t it be really cool to have something more interesting to do when you’re in your bedroom? Read on to find out how you can turn your room into a funhouse; for yourself and your friends

How many times have you stumbled upon an empty loo roll and thought about making something cool out of it? Never? Well, turns out you can use them to make your favourite superheroes and also keep things inside them

DartsDon’t we all love darts? Putting up a dartboard on a separate piece of plywood or on a wooden board can save your walls from looking like a spotted face. how awesome would it be to wake up every morning and try your luck at hitting the bull’s-eye one of these days. if you do hit it that would definitely be awesome and should start you off on a good note for the rest of the day. Foosball setting up foosball in the sad, empty corner of your room would be a great way to bring some fun into it. yes, this could be a tad bit pricey and may make your folks think twice. But hey, if your report card isn’t giving your parents nightmares, then you could cajole them into getting you your very own foosball machine. Hoops hula hoops are a fantastic way to spend time after those long, exhausting days of work. Trying it out for the first time may make you want to tear out your

hair, so it’s better if you ask your friend to come over and give it a shot together. you guys can be each other’s moral support and laugh at each other’s failed attempts. What are friends for anyway?

Organising a carnival is not a piece of cake. There are few points to be considered when making such a decision. But don’t you worry, TMAG’s here to help you impress your teachers, your school mates and organise a great carnival

3rd nAtionAl debAte chAMPionshiP With the slogan “release of the mantra of discipline, build new ties of life” CuTe-BFDF 3rd National Debate Championship will begin on september 5.

The information Communications and Technology Minister, Zunaid Ahmed Palak will be present at the event as chief guest.

A total of 32 public/private universities and medical colleges will participate at the event; Dhaka university, rajshahi university, Jahangirnagar university, Chittagong university, shahjalal university of science and Technology, Khulna university, Barisal university, Begum rokeya university, North-south university, east-West university, Bangladesh university of Business and science(BuBT), American international university of Bangladesh (AiuB), university of Liberal Arts of Bangladesh (uLAB), Dhaka Medical College, National university and many more.

This programme will be organised by the Business studies Faculty Debating Forum (BFDF), rajshahi university, which will be sponsored by cosmetics manufacturing company “Cute” along with technical support from Bangladesh Debate Federation (BDF).

Don’t try to handle it aloneyou might consider yourself a very responsible person, capable of multitasking, but when it comes to organising a carnival grandly, you need help! so, instead of being overconfident, try to assemble a hard-working committee and assign different tasks to them like coordinating food, ticket sales, volunteering etc.

Go with a themeit is important to choose a theme. it makes everything else easier to plan. These themes could be picked according to the current season, a summer carnival or a calendar event such as Christmas or Pohela Baishakh. Next, you need to focus on the props, decorations, chairs, mascots, balloons, etc.

Money is a big factorGenerally, carnivals are considered to be like fund raising events, which means you will need to make money. however, making a profit from such events is tricky and you have to be very smart to do that. The more people you can convince to come to your carnival, the more of a profit you’ll earn. so make catchy posters and put them up all over the school. Then, calculate and take note of how much money you are going to spend for decorations, food and entertainment. After that, estimate the number of people that might come and set your ticket price accordingly.

You will need volunteersDespite having a committee for organising the carnival, you’ll need loads of other people to do small

tasks like selling the tickets or making decorations. That’s where the volunteers come in. Ask your juniors to volunteer and request your school to reward them with certificates in order to encourage

them. As a result, these students will gain some experience, recognition and will participate at the carnival.Anika Jannat

let’s be brAced

Just like any occasion, what you choose to wear is like your second skin. if you’re representing a team, players usually have little or no say in choosing the material of clothes and etc. But if you’re playing for fun, pick out the jerseys, sport shirts, shorts you’re most comfortable with. on the field, it’s more important to feel comfortable rather than look pretty. Lightweight material is always a safe bet, but do make sure your skin can breathe through the material. on the other hand, heavy/dense materials might not feel that heavy or uncomfortable in the beginning, but as you run around in the sun, it will slow you down, tire you and consequently get in the way of your moves. Besides that also make sure the jersey you choose or was chosen for

you fits you right. Not only will you look better but also feel a lot less awkward, since sportswear that doesn’t fit right, gives rise to challenges of their own kind.

sports gear on the other hand will depend completely on your preference. Light weight or heavy weight; just make sure that it feels comfy. it is vital that you read up on reviews before investing in anything, but it’s also a good idea to pick out gear that’ll complement your strengths. Brands usually dedicate football boots and other sport gear to maximise power, speed and accuracy. Choosing gear that enhance your strengths will only stack the cards in your favour.

shah NahiaN

From the spectator’s point of view, sports might appear to be just a game. On the pitch, however, it’s a different story altogether. Even friendly games between teams often turn into wars. The sports arena transforms into a battlefield. While your talent and skill are the most important factors that come into play, the gear you choose to wear also plays a vital role in how well you perform

Materials:• Collapsible eye needle• 12mm glass pearls (12-15)• 1 yard of 3/8” ribbon• 2ft bead and jewellery cord, (0.5mm

thick)• Liquid seam sealant

Step 1: insert the cord through the eye of the needle and pull it to the middle of the cord. Knot the ends of the cord a few times.

Step 2: on the ribbon, starting from one end measure seven inches in and tie a knot. Make sure it’s not too tight though.

Step 3: Feed the needle through this knot. remember the needle must enter the knot from the side that has the seven inch tail and come out on the side with the long tail. While pulling the cord though the ribbon’s knot stop just before the knot in your cord comes close to the knot on the ribbon.

Step 4: Now, pull the knot in the ribbon tight. secure the cord in place by making a couple of small stitches in and out of the ribbon. it’s now time to add the pearls.

Step 5:First place a pearl and thread it with your needle.

Next cover the pearl with the ribbon and sew through the ribbon. After the needle goes through the opposite side of the pearl hole, sew backwards through the hole again; about 0.5” above your previous stitch to secure the pearl in place.

repeat these steps until you achieve the desired length for your bracelet.

When you are adding the last pearl you need not stitch backwards as

mentioned earlier in this step.Step 6: Knot the cord here and make it a tight one, as it’s important the ribbon is flush with the final pearl. Tie some more knots to secure the final pearl with the ribbon.

Step 7: Tie the finishing knot on both sides of the ribbon in a bow. No matter what style you choose for your bracelet, just make sure the final knot is tight. Lastly, trim the edges of the ribbon and seal them with the liquid seam sealant.

Mattel’s hot Wheels toy cars were bought into the limelight in 1968 in response to British toy car makers like Lesney and utilitarian Matchbox cars. These whimsical replicas of 60s muscle cars were an instant hit. They featured “chrome” mag wheels, in-dependent suspension, brilliant paint jobs and realistic body and chassis detailing.

With the help of extensive televi-sion advertising, which started a trend of its own, and those familiar orange track sets, millions of these little toy cars have been sold to date.

The earliest hot Wheels models are now 46 years old and have become the foremost diecast collectible, at-taining unbelievable prices on eBay and other venues.

The first ever collection included 16 diecast cars. hot wheels back then were exaggerated customised cars with elaborated paintwork. And these early cars had a distinctive red trim around the outer edge, thus fetching these cars the name “redliners.”

Mattel’s redliners assembly line consisted of Beatnik Bandit, Custom Camaro, Custom Barracuda, Custom

el Dorado, Custom Corvette, Custom Fleetside, Custom Cougar, Custom Firebird, Custom Mustang, Custom Thunderbird, silhouette, Deora, hot heap, Ford J-Car, Python (originally called Cheetah), and Custom Volk-swagen.

over the years hot Wheels diecast cars have become well-known among kids, teens and die-hard en-thusiasts alike. Count-less individuals collect these cars as a

hobby and might be curi-

ous about which new hot Wheels cars are collectibles.

however, it isn’t necessary to limit a hot Wheels collection to a vintage series only. ever since 1968, Mattel has produced over 10,000 different models and it is still going strong. some collectors like their cars to be loose, while others prefer cars with the distinct and stylish hot Wheels

card art. The best thing about a hot Wheels

collection is that it can be can be started inexpensively. New cars cost around Tk150-300.

Today, hot Wheels diecast models are the apple of every collector’s eye. The combination of fantasy mechan-ics and psychedelic, overdramatic creativity was a great thing back then. Although it’s never coming back, it’s okay because we’ve got our reissues.

And if you haven’t gotten yours just yet, good luck in your hunt for hot Wheels treasure!

ARIES (MAR 21-APR 19) emotions will be running at an all time high and you might

end up overreacting. Think about repercussions before acting out.

TAURUS (APR 20-MAY 20) Patience might be running thin with a close family member.

however, keep in mind that these are the loved ones who really have your back. Blow off steam elsewhere, not at them.

GEMINI (MAY 21-JUN 20) you have the gift of making people feel comfortable around

you. however, there’s a possibility of strumming the wrong chords as you interact. Watch what you say.

CANCER (JUN 21-JUL 22) Were you getting trampled by hoofs for some time? it’s time to

stand up for yourself.

LEO (JUL 23-AUG 22)you can be dramatic or calm and calculated this week. The

choice is yours. Choose wisely.

VIRGO (AUG 23- SEP 22) you may struggle to truly forgive and forget. Be careful of your

actions though, Virgo. you may burn a bridge you can’t undo later.

LIBRA (SEP 23-OCT 22)you’re likely to get irritated at your group and say some harsh

words out of spite. Before you do, try to remember the golden rule and “do unto others.”

SCORPIO (OCT 23-NOV 21) you are likely to say something you regret to a person you care about. Patience is running thin

this week but if you hang on for just a little longer, the feeling will pass just as easily as it came.

SAGITTARIUS (NOV 22-DEC 21) you’re good at being impulsive but you’re not thinking clearly.

Before you jump on board with a life changing decision, think about what you’re doing.

CAPRICORN (DEC 22-JAN 19)your passion will rule this week, which could be disastrous if you

try to pick a fight. Lead any confrontation with a healthy dose of compassion.

AqUARIUS (JAN 20-FEB 18) The glass will be half empty and not half full this week. But don’t

let cynicism and bitterness get to you. you’ll feel much better it passes and gain control again.

PISCES (FEB 19-MAR 20) you may struggle with knowing too much or not enough. either

way, if you’re being taken advantage of, it’s time to stand up for yourself.

Blades of icy gloryWhile you’re there at Bashundhara City, there’s another cool thing for you to try. The star rink has opened up for all of you who want to boogie woogie on ice. Located beside the 4th hall of star Cineplex on level 8, this rink is the only ice skating rink in Bangladesh. For all those of you who have watched Will Ferrel and John heder’s Blades of Glory, competition on the ice rink only makes the sport more enticing. First

timers, fret not as there are trainers who will guide you through the rink and teach you the basics. As for all you aspiring figure skaters, gear yourself up with their leg and elbow guard and put on those hand gloves to steer away from the bumps and bruises. Timings are as follows : Mon - Tue: 10:30am - 9pm Wed: 12pm - 9pm Thu - Sun: 10:30am - 9pm

Shoot em balloonsBalloon shooting is a rarity nowadays. But if you are lucky, you should find a hawker or two lurking around near lakes and parks, waiting for you to pick up the air gun and shoot those little pops of joy. They are assembled on the shades, sometimes in the same line of colours, while you need to stand at least ten feet away from the shade and shoot them in a single line. Location : Banani bridge, uttara

sector 13 bridge, Dhanmondi lake and suhrawardy udhyan.

Welcome to Wonderland“An indoor gaming zone in Bangladesh? The closest i have seen is sports Zone and The Bench, and like any good thing, they didn’t last.” says Zaid Ahmed, a teen frustrated by the fact that there isn’t much to do around the city.

We can go on for hours how there aren’t too many fields around for teens to play, burn the extra calories after school. But there is no point in going into that, considering it is something out of our reach and for authorities to think about. hence, lets talk about something we can do.

on a brighter note, saad Musa City Center is probably the best thing that happened to indoor gaming in recent times. Built in the ideals of a hypermall, the top floor of the structure hopes

to entertain the needs of teens like Zaid. equipped with almost 65 indoor coin-operated games starting from air hockey to arcade-shooting games, it caters to not just teenagers but the entire family as well. Most of the games require four coins to operate which cost Taka 100 plus VAT. The arcade also offers different packages, for instance, if you buy 20 coins, you get 10 extra at a cheaper rate of Taka 575. The other popular package is of 40 coins, for which you get another 40 as a bonus, which costs Taka 1150.

With a food court and a 3D movie theatre in the same floor, a visit to sMCC may well mean a fun family outing. Which, to add, does not happen too often these days.

Adrenaline in my machine

What started in life as an amazing little vehicle in the 1950s to kill some time has gradually turned into a popular worldwide motor-sport sport for many. Art ingels was responsible for inventing the go kart when he built the very first one in 1956. That first go kart was quite like riding a lawn mower. Today, modern go-karts can travel around 120kmph or faster.

Karts do not have a suspension and they have fixed back axles with no differential. Most karts only have rear wheel brakes, which is why they tend to spin out. since, they have no differential, these karts are designed so that the inside rear wheel lifts off while cornering.

Legends like Michael schumacher, once said “i learned everything i know about racing from my karting days.” Aryton senna, the greatest racing driver to ever walk the planet, described it as “The purest form of motorsport.” Current Formula one stars like Jenson Button and Lewis hamilton started racing karts at age of eight. our very own Formula Four superstar, Mahfuzur rahman Tushar, started his racing career with kart racing.

Go-karts can be a stepping stone for people who want to work their way up to professional racing. of course, go karts are not just for those who desire to become professional drivers. Most often go karts are raced by people who just want to have a little fun and some adrenaline rush in small dosages.

These karts can be found in Fantasy Kingdom in Ashulia and for Tk550, you can go thrashing around the track for 6 minutes.

The sky is the limit, with a lot of practice and a little luck, you may just find yourself racing alongside a professional someday!

The Food Court Inception

in the dark underbelly of

Bashundhara City’s food court, you

may or may not stumble upon a

friendly man standing clad in a dog

costume, waving at children in front

of a giant fan. such is the entrance

to Capricorn’s World, a food court in

the middle of a food court. The small

entrance to this place houses a

whole kids section with arcade-style

games, one of those mini basketball

game things, and even some pinball

machines. you can find sweets and

desserts, meal combos, and even

puff pastry. There’s even a gift shop

for some reason, but then again,

variety never hurts.

The arcade does not offer much,

but it is still something to do that’s

not just your old fashioned “sit down

and eat.” it bears resemblance to

food courts in malls abroad, where

there is always a gaggle of children

making sure your ear drums bleed.

The seating arrangements are

comfortable, and it’s a good place to

grab a cup of coffee in Bashundhara.

The food here feels fresh, at least

from the samplings of Burger, Bread

and Fried Chicken. The sandwiches

are also recommended. The combo

meals are certainly filling, and don’t

exceed the 350 taka price range. if

you are looking for a one stop meal

spot in Bashundhara city without the

shopkeepers calling you from left

right and centre, Capricorn’s World

is a decent place to go. The food will

not wow you, but the variety, price

and convenience will make sure that

this is always a safe bet.

To an average person, fish keeping might only appear as a substitute for an interesting pet such as a cat or a dog. however, taking a closer look into the hobby, there’s a whole new world out there, which is just as interesting, waiting to be discovered.

Fish keeping in reality is a lot more complex than it might initially appear. The hobby isn’t as simple as filling out the tank with water, adding the fish and changing out the water when the tank gets dirty. Fish tend to die so often in the hands of most people because of the lack of knowledge and proper care.

it is vital for an aquarist to understand the nitrogen cycle and how to properly maintain the water conditions, livestock compatibility, and long story short, maintaining a proper ecosystem that can sustain life. it’s an ever learning process and can potentially be a very rewarding experience for the aquarist.

The joy of fish keeping is not just what you end up with as the final product but the entire journey itself. it is truly amazing how just a simple glass box can be transformed into an artistic masterpiece. starting from cycling the tank, aquascaping (decorating) to watching it mature over time. There’s something very peaceful about kicking back at the end of the day and admiring everything that you’ve created.

upon speaking to Kazi Mahabubur rahman, a veteran aquarist and one of the two admins of Club Aquaria, he explained: “When i was starting out, i received a lot of help from other, more experienced aquarists. That actually made the difference between a tank full of dead fish and the aquariums i so proudly own today. The gratifying experience i get from fish keeping could’ve easily been a hectic chore without the help and potentially been something i might’ve given up.

Aquarium shops, such as the ones you find in Katabon; they tend to spread a lot of misinformation just so they can make a sale. There are so many things to consider when setting up a tank to what kind of livestock it can support. When people are misguided, they’re sure to experience fatalities in their tank; bringing down the entire experience altogether. so i and saiful islam started Club Aquaria. This was our way of trying to provide the same help we received. This group is a place where aquarists from around the city can unite, share their thoughts, knowledge and guide each other for the better. We also believe communication and bonding works much better face to face, so we try and hosts events as often as possible where members can meet and get to know each other.“

he further added: “As a tank matures, fish and plants propagate. selling, exchanging and free giveaways are always encouraged within the group; however, events are also hosted regularly so this can be carried out safely. it’s not always possible to house every single fish and plant as they grow inside the tank. Club Aquaria members getting involved in trading usually tend to charge a lot less than a shop would, which at the end of the day can be quite beneficial for the entire community.”

Apart from sharing information and trading, the walls of the group are decorated with photos and videos of tanks and beautiful livestock owned by the members. it can often be quite mesmerising realising the endless possibilities and looking at everything other aquarists have created within the walls of Dhaka.

if you’re planning to get a fish tank or already own one; log on to www.facebook.com/groups/Club.Aquaria.Bangladesh and experience fish keeping like never before. n

A cliche, but there are different forms of intimacy we can gain from the internet and sitting in a group. The common interest of a great book is all you need to speak for hours. The difference in opinions, the remarkable surprises; they are only a small part of what this can offer. When a person you have known for years expresses an idea you never expected from them, the smile on your face is what a book club exists for.

setting up one is easier than you can imagine; one book every week, a meeting where you spend hours simply discussing the contents of the book. sounds very intimidating, kind of like school, but among people you are familiar with; every meeting becomes the highlight of your week. A hobby if you may.

A book club isn’t only a place to make new friends and learn more about the ones you already have, but

it’s also a place you get to discuss and explore the dimensions of a book you have thoroughly enjoyed. Learning more about a book, gathering different ideas opens up books in ways that you can never imagine. if nothing else, it will make sure that you explore every aspect of a good book, making it better or make a bad book actually very enjoyable. if you don’t believe it, just give it a shot! kyoko bhuiyaN

lost hobbiesA rainy saturday proved lazy as saad grumbled around home. The exams had taken its toll on him, and his room still remained as messy as his hair. With nothing else to do, he prepared to make the dump downside up. he started with the wardrobe, but stopped when he noticed a cardboard box tucked in the corner. Curious, he took it out, opened it, and stood staring at it for a full minute in amazement. he had completely forgotten the existence of the contents, and didn’t wait a second longer to spread it on his already occupied bed. First came

out an array of old bottle caps and then a rainfall of old stamps. A wide smile spread across his face as he remembered how he collected them all; a hobby worthwhile. he tipped the box over in excitement, and fell out a handful of dusty action figures and foreign coins. he still couldn’t believe he had these; his priceless childhood treasures, remnants of his lost hobbies. Minutes passed by as saad became engrossed with his sudden find, which slowly extended to hours. The room remained as messy as it ever was.

People living in Dhaka have no access to international radios or music channels. it’s as if we’re all doomed to listen to the same old exhausted playlists over and over, till we lose all appreciation for the art.

however, signing up for this one website can potentially save you from such despair. At the very first glance, you’d think that Last.fm is nothing more than an online radio. But once you start using it, you’ll soon discover that this is your one stop musical buffet, where you can satisfy the strongest of cravings.

The site offers its listeners a wide range of stations according to genre, artists, similar artists and tracks. however, what makes last.fm so special is that the website keeps track of everything you’ve been listening to online or from your personal library. your user profile maintains a live blog

if we are unaware of who or where this was said then we really need to catch up on our films. For those of you who know, rejoice and read on to learn more about this famed director. And for those that don’t there are plenty of clues scattered around the article. in each of his films, sir Peter Jackson proved that imagination is the key to creating a new horizon. his childhood was full of fantasies such as, ray harryhausen’s “Jason and the Argonauts” along with “The 7th Voyage of sinbad.” he always wanted to create movies that framed contexts such as those in sinbad; to portray a world of monsters, ogres, trolls, castles, wars and sword fights. simply discovering a flintlock, gun from the 1800s, in a bush or stream was a

dream for him, a dream of an adventure.sir Peter Jackson, director of the

brilliant “The Lord of the rings” trilogy believes his imagination and the dream of an adventure to be the catalyst for his work.

Peter simply desired to finish school as soon as possible, so he could buy a 16 millimetre camera. At the age of 16 he left school and started working for a newspaper as a photolithographer and saved everything he’d earned. Peter said: “i basically spent two years saving up for a 16 millimetre camera, which cost several thousand dollars and i was only getting paid 75 bucks a week.”

his attempt at filming videos resulted in a short film named “Bad taste.” Full of new thoughts he spent six days

at the office and the remaining one day shooting what he’d imagined. This process continued for four years without cutting a single shot. Consequently, Peter started his journey by wanting to make a short film, which ultimately turned out to be a feature film. Making leaps and bounds, it made its way into the Cannes Film Festival in 1988; winning the title of the fastest selling film in New Zealand.

Peter cannot live without planning his next project. he says: “i always like to know what i’m doing next by the time i finish a film.” he even began to feel the need to write a story that is filled with fantastical creatures and swashbuckling heroes while he was in post production for the film “Frighteners.” And it seemed that he always ended up referring to Jrr Tolkien’s “Lord of the rings.” he believed that one could not just jot down the plot and make an abridged version of a flim; getting rid of details and such. he said: “it would be a reader’s Digest Lord of the rings. it just wouldn’t feel right. it wouldn’t be something i would want to have my name on. i just want to make Lord of the rings, not some horrible cut down thing.” he waited till the day he got the chance to make an epic film and boy did he make one. n

He said: “You cannot pass. I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udun. Go back to the Shadow! YOUUU...SHALL NOT...PASS!”Saudia Afrin and Fuad M Hossain

Trivia • While Peter never really thought

of being a director, he wanted to assist ray harryhausen in doing stop-motion animation.

• Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh’s lovely journey started with” heavenly Creature.” After working together for three years as friends, co-workers, and co-scriptwriters, they decided to live the rest of their lives together. Peter says: “it’s the endless, endless revision, and Fran’s strength is that. she is fantastic at picking the weakness out of a script and just revising it and revising it till we are happy with it.”

i do hAve A hobbY!Websters dictionary defines a hobby as...oh the light is nice. Should take a selfie! Yes we all have hobbies. When you’re home in your jammies on a Saturday morning and surfing through 9gag, guess what? That’s a hobby. Something you love to do and at times so much that you don’t even realise you’re doing it. Besides the unnoticeable ones, here’s a few brought to your notice

AstroloGY

Checked your horoscope lately? Guilty huh? No worries, we did too. Not much is as appealing as a small paragraph explaining what your day or week would be like. Fortune telling has been very popular since the medieval ages, and its modern kin is no less in the virtual world.

MeMe collectinG

oh hahahahaa!! Tap, save image! if personal images in your gallery fades out and in between memes, that’s a sign buddy. it’s a noble art, collecting humorous pictures and keeping an arsenal of them; enough to give someone perfect abs from laughter. Consider it the modern equivalent of stamp collecting; but one with a giggle.

tAkinG the Perfect selfie

As aforementioned, the tiniest ray of light in the perfect place is enough to whip your phone out and make you snap away, occasionally with duck faces. As far as hobbies go, this one is seriously addictive. it even officially classifies as a “mental illness” in the us, but that doesn’t make us love taking them any less. in fact, it’s nice and bright out today...

listology

When i was 13, Wonderland was the ultimate theme park in Dhaka. i couldn’t get enough of it and tried all their rides besides the izzy dizzy. izzy Dizzy looked menacing. it was made in the shape of a huge green spider, with tentacles that had tiny round chairs attached to it. it shone like a gleaming monster at night. however, i didn’t let my fear get the better of me, so i sat in the squishy little stool, while the conductor fastened the safety belt around my waist. As the spider raised its tentacles and went up and down round and round, i knew this was a trap. The motions made me sick and i started shouting and screaming. The other kids around me got really frightened and started crying. The conductor noticed the commotion and immediately stopped the ride while my cousins got me off of it. They calmed me down, however the damage was done. Parents and guardians noticed this and stopped letting their children get on the ride. other children kept giving me angry looks and i quickly walked away out of izzy dizzy’s sight.

We all know there’s no such things as ghosts. None the less we were scared of them when we were young. This story dates back to when i was a first grader, and for the first time i went to Fantasy Kingdom. The Ghost Train seemed like a fun ride to try out for my parents so i reluctantly hopped on it with my eyes closed. The other passengers kept on shouting so i opened my eyes to experience what i was missing. i was horrified to find that i was surrounded by boogeyman and poltergeists from horror films. They came from all directions, made scary noises/

sounds while i cried and screamed in terror. At one point i just wanted to get off of the moving train. it was the longest five minutes of my life and after that day i promised myself to never go back. Now that i think about it, i feel so stupid, because they weren’t even real; just people wearing costumes!

i grew up in saudi Arabia; riyadh to be specific. We were on a field trip and this one was rather unique. it was so long ago that i can’t remember the location but i do remember the name of the place. it was called “reptile house.” After seeing all sorts of slithery creatures, i stood in front of a King Cobra. only a thick bulletproof glass separating us; we stared at each other and mimicked each others movements until i stood up. The cobra did the same and to my surprise, my height paled in comparison to the snake’s. i brought my face closer to the glass, so did the snake. it inched closer to the glass and so did the fear that was mildly boiling in my stomach. out of no where, Garfield’s face was next to mine, and the cobra struck straight at my face. i fell backwards, absolutely terrorised by what just happened. i realised that my classmate thought it would be funny to stick her Garfield bag right next to my face, while i stared at what is known to be one of the most dangerous snakes in the world. Were it not for the thick glass in between, i wouldn’t be here talking about this today. Looking back at it now, i never want to be in that situation ever again.
