1. Modifications and evolutionsThis new software version operates under Windows XP and Windows 7. It no longer operates under Windows NT.

1.1. Russian interface

The ABX Pentra 60C+ and the Pentra ES60 interface is now available in Russian.

1.2. Correction of the PCT Unit

The unit for PCT has been changed for SI and mmol/L. It has been changed from “10-2 /L” to “10-2 L/L”.

1.3. Optical Gain Tolerance Change

Following recent findings, the optical gain frame has been increased. It still allows a minimum tension of 5.5 V, but itcan now allow a maximum tension of 7.5 V.Refer to RAN589A for more information on this adjustment.

2. EPROM installation■ Switch the instrument off and remove the left-hand side panel.

■ Using an antistatic mat, replace the instrument EPROM (refer to the diagram on the following page).Replace the EPROM by the correct one, depending on whether the instrument is equipped with Takasago valves ornot. The EPROM V3.0.0-1 must be used for instruments not equipped with Takasago valves, and the EPROM V3.0.0-2 VTK must be used for instruments equipped with Takasago valves.

■ Re-install the left-hand side panel.

3. V3.0.1 Software installation

■ Create a new worklist before installing the new version in order to have an archive file.

■ Switch the instrument and the workstation off.

■ Switch the instrument and the workstation on and log in as the administrator.

■ Insert the CD-ROM NAJ128B in the computer CD-ROM drive.

■ Start the Windows Explorer application and click the CD-ROM drive device letter.

■ Run "setup.exe" from the CD-ROM root. The following window is displayed:

■ Click "Yes" to continue the installation. The following window is displayed:

■ Click "Next".

■ Select the correct instrument from the scrolling list.

Version V3.0.1 must be installed over version 2.2.9 (or higher) except for the computers Fujitsu Siemens E620 and E5615, which operate under Windows XP. For Fujitsu Siemens E620 and E5615, version 3.0.1 can be installed directly or over version 2.2.9 (or higher).Refer to the latest version of RAN056 to check the compatibility between the software and the computer.

The installation program installs all the files needed to carry out the implementation of the software in the case of a first installation (case of the installation on the Fujitsu Siemens E620 and E5615). In other cases it updates the software but keeps the customer settings and data.

The installation of software version V3.0.1 on Windows 7 is not compatible and not functional for the Chinese language pack.EPSON 6100, EPSON EPL-59000 and Lexmark E210 printers are not compatible with Windows 7.

■ Click "Next".A status bar is displayed during the copy:

◆ The instrument proceeds to the software version installation. At the end of the installation the following window is displayed:

◆ Click "Finish" to restart the computer.◆ Open a session with the "ABX" login.◆ Check the instrument and user setup.◆ Control the correct operation of the instrument.
