TNT Weekly Update! September is Blood
Cancer Awareness Month
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (518) 438-3583 August 29, 2013
Fundraising Update & Housekeeping
Mission Fuel
Our fall season team is
still moving the needle
with a fundraising
total of $26,828 this
week! Our 14 Flex
participants have
raised over $22,000!
Disney is continuing to
raise more and more,
with $7,228 in the
bank! This week alone
we have EIGHT new
Disney participants!
Two of these
participants happen to
be the parents of our
young honored hero!
It will be a true
inspiration to have our
honored hero at event
weekend in Orlando!
His bio and photo will
be announced next
week at the kick-off!
It’s not too late to join
the Disney team!
Have a great weekend.
Good luck to the
Adirondack ½
Marathon team who
will be running their
highest mileage this
weekend! GO TEAM!
Think about things that are
already happening. Instead
of coming up with an event
from scratch, piggy back off
of something that is already
set up.
A great example is sporting
events. People always like
to buy a square in a pool or
bet on certain teams.
Travers Weekend at the
Saratoga Race Track is
approaching very soon. You
could do a day at the track
or have a pool for one or a
few of the races.
Football season is just
around the corner too!
Host a party for the first
Sunday of football and sell
squares on a certain game.
Have people over to the
house and have raffles or
other ways to make a
donation. What’s great
about this is people don’t
have to be present. Family
or friends from around the
country can buy a square
and still have the chance to
support your fundraising
efforts from far away!
The key to fundraising is to
host FUNdraisers that YOU
personally enjoy. Put your
time and energy into
something that you find
fun.

Someday is Today: BCAM
What happened to the weekly update? It has been taken
over by Blood Cancer Awareness Month!! (BCAM)
September 1st
marks the first day of Blood Cancer
Awareness Month.
Throughout the month we will be sharing lots of
educational bits of information. It’s crucial for all of us to
know where our fundraising dollars are going, what
advancements are being made, and truly how close we
are to finding a cure. Join me this month in spreading the
word about LLS! This is a great opportunity to educate
your donors and use the facts I will be sharing to gather
even more donations!
Kick Off & Send Off Gatherings
For Active Fundraising Participants…
Sep 4- Crossings of Colonie, 5:30pm
Sep 5- Greater Burlington YMCA, 5:30pm
Calling all past, present,
and soon to be
participants! Please join
us at our kick off and
send off gatherings next
week. During this time
we will have an
information session
for those interested in
joining the winter
season team, officially
kick off our winter
season training, and
send off our fall
season participants.
We have participants
heading all over for
their upcoming
events! They deserve
a big thank you for
raising funds for the LLS
and for working so hard
to train for their
endurance event!
Please let Charly know
if you plan to attend
September 4th
and let
Gail know if you plan to
attend September 5th
.
We look forward to
seeing you there!
Opportunity to raise some dollars! This is the second year that a group of TNT alumni have participated in the Ragnar Relay Series. They will be running from Saratoga to Lake Placid over the course of two
days. They will be “sleeping” in vans and taking on whatever the wilderness brings! THIS is where you come in! Every team needs to provide volunteers and if they don’t, they have to pay. Instead of paying Ragnar they would like
to make a donation to TNT participants who are willing to volunteer! This donation will be roughly $100 per person. Please contact teammate, Chris Moore at [email protected] for details!
