To Bless: ANY Jewish person ANY where in the world, In ANY way possible

November 2017

Shalom dear friends,

It is hard to believe that we are quickly drawing to the close of another year. I look back on

2017 with gratitude to the L-rd and to all of you who have helped us raise up Children of Jacob. Because of you we have been able to create a new ministry dedicated to blessing the Jewish people. To bless, ANY Jewish person, ANY where in the world in ANY way possible. This is not just a slogan. This is a philosophy and a commitment to do whatever it takes to bless the Jewish people.

I look back on this year with trips to Israel and Ukraine, how we were able to bless and serve

the Jewish people in so many different ways. Repairing the apartment of a handicapped man in Israel. Providing food parcels for outreaches. Emptying a 40 foot container of goods for autistic children. Bringing spiritual encouragement to the discouraged. And of course, the most important thing, bringing the truth of Messiah to Jewish people who have never heard it before. And this is only the beginning! G-d is opening doors for us to work in Jewish communities and to share the needs with believers around the world.

As 2018 approaches we have an ambitious schedule planned. We

are planning a trip to Ethiopia at the beginning of the year. As many of you know I have long desired to do a project in the Jewish community of Addis Ababa that will change that whole community. Perhaps this is the year! We are taking a church to Israel in March. Although we will visit all the important places, we will also serve the Jewish community. My goal for these trips is that when a church returns home they will remember what they have seen and continue to help the Jewish people. In April we are taking my daughter, Elisa, and her dance company, Petra, to Israel. They will minister in several Messianic congregations. In July we will be returning to Ukraine to continue the teaching begun on my last trip. We will also be part of the effort to establish a soup kitchen among the refugees of the Burdansk region near the breakaway regions which continue to fight against the Ukrainian government. All in all, it looks to be a great year!

There are so many open doors, but we could not step through any of them without your help. Because of

your faithfulness we are able to fulfill our calling to bless the children of Jacob, Jewish people around the world. I ask you, our faithful friends, for your continued prayers and support. There is much to do and together we will make a difference in the lives of countless Jewish people. As the Rabbi Saul said, “Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to G-d for the Israelites is that they may be saved.” Romans 10:1. Together, let us continue to cry out to G-d for an outpouring of His Spirit. That we will be the generation to hear Israel cry out “Baruch Haba B’shem Adonai” Blessed be He who comes in the name of the L-rd”.

Truly, traveling to Ukraine can be an odyssey!

Flights from Springfield to Houston to Munich to Kiev to Zaparozia. Finally a three hour trip by car, to go 60 miles to the city of Burdansk! Honestly, we spent as much time bouncing from side to side as we did going straight ahead. Burdansk is home to many refugees from the Russian led fighting just 60 miles away. We visited many refugee families who had lost everything due to the war. Needless to say, the discouragement and hopelessness were overwhelming. When you have lost all your material possessions a hug, a prayer and a parcel of food go a long way to bring a little bit of joy. Just to know that there is someone who cares, that you have not been forgotten can make a huge difference. We held a seminar and about 200 people, primarily Jewish refugees, attended. We distributed food parcels, had a wonderful time of worship, and I shared G-d’s heart for these hurting Jewish people. One Jewish man who we had visited had been so bitter and angry. He could do nothing but curse and complain. After the service this man came up to me and hugged me with tears in his eyes and thanked me for the hope I was able to share with him. The truth for these poor refugees is the same truth for us, that even when everything has been taken away from us, the hope we have in Messiah can be more than enough. In truth, their faith, their trust that G-d would keep them, was an encouragement to me. I pray, my dear friends, that we in America will learn that kind of faith. We have been invited back by the Jewish community to teach classes on Jewish history, culture and tradition with complete freedom to speak of Messiah. Thanks to you we are making a difference in the lives of these hurting Jewish people!

Vixie’s ViewsIt always begins with something small.” We were in Dachau Concentration Camp in

Germany in April and one of the students made this remark after reading about Hitler’s rise to power. But I realized this statement is true about so many different things, not merely politics. We begin our life as something small, even microscopic, and look at us now. Our attitudes influence our decisions and our attitude usually begins as something small, yet our decisions determine the trajectory of our lives. Children of Jacob began small, as nothing but a call from God that was first planted in Jeff ’s heart. Even Jesus Himself began as a small baby in that stable in Bethlehem so long, long ago.

My prayer as you read this is that we all step back and examine our lives and hearts and see those small things that we should allow and encourage to flourish and eradicate

those things that we should destroy. As Paul tells us in Romans 12:2, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, which is good and acceptable and perfect.” And it all begins with something small.

“I will bless those who bless you,...” Genesis 12:3
