• To discuss the weekly values linked to the key competencies.

• To revisit the Principal’s talk regarding the week’s values focus and how they fit into the school vision.

• As an opportunity to share our learning with family and friends

Reinforcing alphabet knowledge

Learning the parts of a bee

Links to culture and heritage, measurement and vocabulary development

• As part of the literacy task board rotation there is a link to the class wiki and a selection of reading / writing activities.

• There is also a link to our digi-stories blog which showcases some of the Photo Stories the class have made for children to re-read.

As part of the maths rotation children can :

• link to the class wiki or

• link to Utah Education Network www.uen.org

both of which have a variety of maths based activities

Children also work on Mathletics to develop basic numeracy skills

As part of the literacy task board rotation children can:

• link to the class wiki and a selection of reading / writing activities.

• link to our digi-stories blog which showcases some of the Photo Stories the class have made for children to re-read.

• an online calendar to give parents information about upcoming school and class events

• homework sheets

• copies of class and school newsletters are also available

• parent information on how to help children with reading / writing / maths

As a home-school communication tool the blog links to the class wiki which has:

• as a starter for discussions, values exploration; retelling and writing

• Kid Pix & Paint – drawing programmes to illustrate Photo Stories, create avatars to use with work posted

• Word – for publishing work; for spelling etc

• Camera – for reading, writing and topic areas to present information; to illustrate work etc
