When you receive a “Page Can’t Be Displayed” Message:

1) Stop. Take a deep breath – do not click anywhere!

2) Ask yourself these questions:1) Have I ever been on this page before?

1) If yes, then ask “Are other webpages working?”

2) If no, then ask “Are other webpages working?”

If other web pages are not working, check your Internet connection.

1) Look at the modem. Is it on? Are the proper lights lit?

2) If you have a separate router, is it on? Are the proper lights lit?

If other web pages are working:1)If you typed the link, check your typing – especially, look for spaces or misspelled words2)If you clicked on the link from somewhere else, go back and check other links.

Reasons you may get a ‘Cannot Display” error message:

1) Your computer is offline.2) The server which hosts the page is

offline.3) There is something wrong with

the page.

Reasons for a 404 error:1)The page no longer exists (it was deleted)2)The page has been moved (the URL is different)3)The page never existed – you typed it wrong or whomever created a link typed it incorrectly.

Reasons for a 403 error:1)You’re trying to access a page on a secure server and you are not authorized.2)You are authorized but you typed your User Name and/or Password incorrectly.

When you get errors in email, you should:1) Panic2) Call for help3) Check to see if you can get to a web

page!

Send error reports to Microsoft, Apple or whomever!

Reasons:1) No personal information is shared.2) Someone actually looks at the raw data.3) Sometimes, you will be directed to a page with possible fix(es).
