1 Based on your application submitted to the Construction Education and

Training Authority (CETA) in or about November 2011 this serves to advise

you that the CETA has resolved to enter into a contract with your

organizationinstitution in terms of which your organizationinstitution shall

a Recruitment of learnersgraduates where applicable with all

relevant documents completed and availed to the CETAs

satisfaction

b Opening a separate bank account dedicated to the contract

referred to In 1 above and aU other contracts for which your

organizationInstitution may be funded by the CETA All invoice

payments pertaining to the project shall be paid into this account

and the CETA shall at all times be entitled to all information

relating to it

c Submission of a budget developed by yourselves and approved by

the CETA

d SubmiSSion of a project plan developed by yourselves and

approved by the CETA

e Joint appointment with the CETA of a training provider via a Joint

Project Management Team to be established between your

organizationinstitution and the CETA

3 The following additional conditions shall apply

a At least 40 of the learners recruited must be female except where

the CETA funded organization or programme is a womens

organization or programme funded specifically for women in which

case all learners recruited must be female

b Except with the permission of the CETA at least 2 of all learners

recruited must be People with Disability except where the CETA

funded organization or programme is an organization for People with

Disability or programme funded specifically for People with Disability

In which case all learners recruited must be People with Disability

c Learners recruited may not be in any other skills development

programmeproject funded by a public institution

d Learners recruited may not be younger than sixteen (16)

e A minimum of R1 50000 per month must be paid as stipends to

- Learners on Leamerships Apprenticeships and Internships

- Learners from Universities Universities of Technology and Public FET

Colleges placed for-Experiential Learning in the Workplace

OFFER OF CONTRACT BElWEEN THE CETA AND YOUR ORGANIZATIONINSTITUTION

f A minimum of R2 50000 per month must be paid to graduates on

candidacy programmes

g The duration of Learnershlps Is a minimum of nine (9) months and a

maximum of twelve (12) months

h The duration of Apprenticeships Is a maximum of thirty six (36)

months

i The duration of Internships shall be as per the requirements of the

feeder institution but may not exceed twelve (12) months

j The duration of Candidacy Programmes shall be as per the

requirements of the professional registering body but may not exceed

thirty-six (36) months

k Learnerships are strictly for unemployed learners

I Apprenticeships are for both employed and unemployed learners

m Except with the concurrence of theCETA Short Skills Programmes are

strictly for fmployed learners

n No pre-assessment leading to the non-continuation of a learner in the

relevant learning pathway shall be paid for by the CETA

o All allocatlons for Apprenticeships and Candidacy Programmes are for

the first year only and subject to further funding at the sole discretion

of the CETA which dlscretlon shall be guided by the performance of

the Individuals funded

p Each learnergraduate must have a bank account into which the

stipend must be paid

4 The CETA reserves the right at its sole discretion to prescribe additional

PUllPOSE

Thi contract of employment is for learnersapprenticesinterns who are temporarily employed for the purpose of completing a Ie arnershipapprenticeshipinternship

INTERPRETATION

Thi~ contract of employment should be interpreted in line with the following applicable legislation

- 1 The Skills Development Act (Act 97 of 1998) 2 rhe Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997) 3 The Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997) Sectoral Determination NO5 4 abour Relations Act of 1995 5 Any other applicable legislation and bargaining council agreements

TERMINATION Of CONTRACT

This contract of employment terminates when the learnerapprenticeintern has completed a learflershipapprenticeshipinternship or the learnershipapprenticeshipinternship agreement has been cancelled (NOTE parties may agree on a contract that is longer than the Learnershiplnternship Agreement)
