COMMITMENTS: 1) My first commitment to this ministry is to have a daily growing personal

relationship with Christ. ______ ______

2) Because of my commitment to Christ, as a participant in the Piedmont’s Band Team, I must commit my life to shine for Christ in all that I do. Shining for Christ means to live above reproach, which means not participating in things that would cause others to stumble. This includes acting above reproach in my dating relationships, not smoking, abstaining from drugs, not cheating, not drinking, no sexual activity of any kind, and anything that is not God honoring. ______ ______

3) I am committed to pursuing God with my life, which means my heart, my actions, and my life should honor Him, at church, with my friends, my classmates, my family, and in my Social Media World (IE: Facebook, tweets, and blogs) ______ ______

4) Because of my commitment to this ministry, I understand that I represent

CHRIST, my family, and Piedmont. ______ ______

5) I understand that the Student Ministry Team and the Staff of Piedmont care about me, and that their first priority is to see me grow in the Lord, to hold me accountable to these commitments, and to be a support for me. ______ ______

6) I understand that if I am not God-honoring I will be asked to step down from the Piedmont Student band for a period of time to work on my heart. ______ ______

7) I am committed to practicing on my own during the week before my assigned weekends or service. ______ ______

8) I will bring my music (with my notes on it) to the assigned, practices, rehearsals, events, camps, weekend services, etc. ______ ______

9) I will connect with friends at the services that I lead worship at and commit to serve at all others that I am playing at by greeting or meeting other students. ______ ______

Page 3: To play on stage or sing on stage, you must have this form ...storage.cloversites.com/piedmontchurch/documents/Student...• Auditions • Each student will be required to audition,

10)I am required to attend Piedmont services weekly. To not only come to a service when asked to play, but to attend and be a part of the ministry as a whole. This will help you own the ministry even more. _______ _______

11)I have and will maintain a GPA over 2.0 for the semester and do not have any “F’s”. (Honor System) ______ ______

12)The week that I don’t play I will commit to sitting closer to the front of services and be actively involved in worship and teaching, encouraging others around me to participate in the service and not be a distraction. ______ ______

13)I will attend all required practices, unless an emergency comes up. If I cannot attend, I will call my leader at least 24 hours in advance. I understand that if I miss a practice I will not be allowed to play the following weekend (unless there is a legitimate excuse). _______ ______

14)I understand that being late to practices/sound checks or leaving early is not acceptable. I understand that the time given for practices is the start time or down beat. I will not arrive at that time; I will come early to set-up my equipment and will be ready to play at start time (this includes ALL venues). Be early, set up, tuned, warmed up, and ready to start. ______ ______

15)I understand that, no matter who the worship leader is, I will not be offended when they decide what to do with a song or with the parts of the song. I will be open to the suggestions and comments from the Piedmont Worship Leaders. _______ _______

16)I understand that this is a ministry and not a HOBBY. _______ ______

17)I understand that I am here to serve and not be served. _______ ______

18)I understand the difference between leading worship and performing, and agree that we are not performing we are leading worship. ______ ______

21)I will respect the opinions of others in the band and encourage them. _____ _____

22)I understand the simplicity of leading, and I will not be offended if I do not get to play or sing a certain number of times or certain parts in a song. ______ ______

23)I understand that if I use any of the church’s equipment that I will need to put it back where I got it from. I will not just dump it back in the room for someone else to clean up. If I don’t put things back I won’t be allowed to use the equipment. I also understand that the equipment that we use is God’s equipment and I will take care of it. _____ _____

24)I understand that if I have any suggestions or comments about the way the band members are playing, I will speak to the worship leaders. ______ ______

Because of my position as a worship leader, I understand that my appearance must be tasteful and not take away from leading other students in worship. I won't draw attention to myself through my clothing choice. Therefore, I will adhere to the following:

Ladies: I will dress modestly, being sure not to wear tight clothing, too loose clothing, see through clothing (without something acceptable underneath) any tops with spaghetti straps or tops that show my bra straps. Dresses and shorts will be an appropriate length below the middle of the thigh or just above the knee (when it doubt don’t wear it). _______ ______

Guys: I will wear shirts that have sleeves and do not have holes in them. I will not wear shirts with offensive logos. _______ _______

Know this – When in doubt, DON’T. The leadership is responsible for how we represent our ministry on stage and these guidelines are in place to protect you and protect the ministry. If you are asked to change or wear something else and you whine or complain about it, then you need to check your heart, because then it becomes an issue in your own heart, showing that you’re more concerned with how you look and it’s about you and not about God. ______ _______
