The General Assembly in resolution 3415 (XXX) approved a set of criteria for the provision of meeting recordsof United Natione bodies. In accordance with these criteria, the summary records of the Ad Hoc Committee (eleventh special session) will be issued in only one form (as Of!.icialRecords of the General Assembly), and will cover an diScussions, whether substantiv:e or procedural. Cor,"ections tothese meeting records will be included in one Sessional Fascicle for thatCommittee, covering all meetings. The verSaIrmrecords of the plenary meetings of the General Assemblywill continue to be issued initially in provisional mimeographed form for limited distribution, and later for generaldistr, bution in corrected printed form as Official Records.

AVAILABILITY OF DQCUMENTS AND PUBLICATIONS

3. In response to the views expressed in the Fifth Com-mittee, during prior consideration of the item Qn pUblications and documentation, that the existing series of documents and meetings bad reached such high figures as to bedifficult to handle, it has been decided that documents andmeeting records for the thirty-first and subsequent sessionsof the General Assen.:J>ly would be numbered in separate series by session, and not consecutively as hitherto. As faras symbol series are concerned, the session will be givenin the symbol in Arabic numerals immediately following theindication of the body concerned, while the final element willgive the serial number within the particular series concerned. For example, A/ES-6/3 is the third in the series of main documents for the General Assembly at its sixth emergency special session and A/S-l1/AC.1/L. 6 is the sixth in the seriesof limited distribution documents for the Ad Hoc Committeeof the eleventh special session. The numbering of meetingshas been adjusted in a similar way. Thus the first plenarymeeting of the sixth emergency special seasion of the General Assembly bears the symbol A/ES-6/PV.l, while therecord of the third meet'..ng of the Ad Hoc Committee of theeleventh special session is c~ted as A/S-l1/AC.l/SR. 3u
