Headmasters Corner We start this week, as always, in celebratory mode. We congratulate Aditi Mehendale for being awarded an Academic scholarship at Badminton school. This is a superb accolade and well deserved after many terms and years of hard work and dedication; well done!
In addition we congratulate Tabitha Huby who has been awarded a deferred place at Badminton on the back of her very successful and impressive exam results earlier this term.
The first Saturday of half term saw our cross country runners in action in the final Gloucestershire League race of the season. All of our runners
have produced some very impressive performances this season with the most notable being Dalis Jones who took third spot for the season in the Under 11 girls; Alex Grocott for a second place in the under 13 boys and the Under 13 boys team who took the silver medal. It should be remembered that Tockington Manor is the only school that
takes part in this league as all other teams are Athletics Clubs.
Well done to all and thank you to all the parents who travel to watch the children take part. These are very enjoyable events and I know that as parents and staff we are enormously proud of our children. I must also thank Mr Cann for his continued support and of course Mr Jones the driving force behind the schools love of running.
Forgive me but we stay with our U13 boys as whilst our Cross Country teams were in action at Westonbirt (report to follow later in this edition of the Tracker) they welcomed Clifton College football team to the school. After having gone 2-0 down the boys produced a display that even Jose Mourinho would be able to be positive about. A superb team performance with all players producing their best, the final result being a 3-2 win to Tockington. Well done boys!
Good luck to all those taking part in the Inter House netball and football tournaments tomorrow and the under 8 Netball team who head off to Beaudesert for a Hi5 Festival.

Westonbirt School CCInvitation Event A commendable performance from all 39 of our athletes on a fine day on long testing courses in the glorious Westonbirt grounds. The team results are going to be emailed to us in due course but there were many individual successes and an excellent effort from all. There were 9 races in all ranging from U8 Girls and Boys up to U12 Girls.
A Summary of the Results U8G Kaya 7th U8B George B 8th U9G Alys 14th U9B Henry 7th Archie S 9th Ben 11th U10G Iona 10th U10B Otis 2nd(Silver Medal) Jake 6th Freddie 11th U11G Rachel 25th U11B Ceredig 11th U12G Dalis 1st (Gold Medal) Ellie 3rd (Bronze Medal) Olivia B 6th
Some outstanding performances. When the results arrive I would think that the U12 girls will win their category with the U9 Boys coming close; the U10 Boys will also be in contention as the winners of their section.
Over 21 schools took part in the afternoon.
News from Reception The children in Reception have been having a great time learning about and painting pictures of the planets. They have also been enjoying their time in the role play garagebudding technicians of the future?
Glos League CC On the first Saturday of half term our cross country team went to Tewkesbury for the final of the four Gloucestershire League Cross Country meetings. All the runners did their best with excellent results. The Under 13 boys team won a silver medal with Alex Grocott winning an individual silver medal and Alex Jacobi placed 5th - a great result for them as they were a year younger than most others in their category. The Under 13 girls team come 4th with Ellie Parker placed 6th. The Under 11 boys team was also 4th with Otis Walker placed 4th. The Under 11 girls again come 4th with Dalis Jones winning the bronze medal. Well done to all those who took part.
