Seda’s Overview
The Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) is an
agency of the South African Department of Trade and
Industry (the dti). Seda was established in December 2004,
through the National Small Business Amendment Act, Act 29
of 2004.
Seda’s mission is to develop, support and
promote small enterprises throughout the
country, ensuring their growth and
sustainability in co–ordination and partnership
with various role players, including global
partners, who make international best
practices available to local entrepreneurs.

organized by the dti abroad

The Trade Point concept was launched by the
United Nations Conference on Trade and
Development (UNCTAD) in 1992.

• Project Funding 80:20 reimbursement cost sharing grant whereby financial support is granted to Export Councils, joint action groups to develop particular sectors of the industry. Finding new export markets and promoting black SMMEs, woman, youth and people with disabilities

Compensates costs in terms of activates aimed at the development of emerging exporters
