Projects •  15 Interim Recommendations

–  Authorized in May 2007, $107.7M –  7 Complete, 8 in Construction

•  Comprehensive Plan –  Phased over 30 – 40 years –  $1.4 B, 12 Construction Projects +

53 Feasibility Studies –  Submitted to Congress Jan 2010

•  Interim Summary Statistics –  Restored 35 miles of beach and dune

systems –  Protected/enhance d3300 acres of coastal

wetlands –  Restored 2 ½ miles of seawall systems –  Restored flood storage capacity and

circulation in 11 miles of streams/canals –  Potential reduction in storm damage to over

41,000 structures –  Provide $11 million in annual recreation

benefits

•  Phase I Summary Statistics –  Over 3,000 acres of emergent wetland, wet

pine savannah, maritime forest, dunes, and submerged aquatics restored

–  Over $51 M annual damages avoided –  Over 2,000 parcels removed from high risk

inventory –  Over $43 M annual fisheries losses avoided –  Over 10,000 possible jobs created –  Significant incidental flood storage
