Principal’s Report
Tomaree’s Terrific, Totally awesome Day
What a day!! We had over 80 significant males in our students’ lives come along to our Bloke’s BBQ
last Friday. Great job!
The Mum’s Morning Tea was a great way to pass the time for our mums, grand friends, aunties and
friends whilst the students got ready for the Book Parade. Thank you to all the lovely people who told
us what a great idea it was. It will definitely stay in the program for next year.
The Book Parade was THE BEST! To see so many students and staff in costumes depicting their fa-
vourite book and film characters was wonderful to see. We certainly had the monopoly on “Where’s
Wally?” outfits this year.
The Science focus came to a conclusion with our Paper Plane Fly Off, where we saw boomerang, div-
ing and swooping planes being launched. Congratulations to all our class and stage winners.
A number of parents stayed to have lunch with their children before heading off after the break,
which was when the focus switched to Maths Mania, followed closely by the Reading Rampage after
recess. What a day…I am sure everyone slept well that night!
External Validation
This week I had the honour of being involved in the External Validation process for Taree Public
School. It was wonderful to be invited into another school to see their accomplishments and share
their successes. A big shout out to Karen Clark, the principal of Taree Public and her wonderful staff.
Stage 3 Camp
Have you got your payments in for this great excursion to Bathurst? Remember, due to our new sys-
tems, these payments need to be completed soon. Mrs Holloway has been sending home reminders
regularly, so please finalise this as soon as possible to ensure your child is able to attend.
Pages in Time
Our first K-6 Performance Night is set for Thursday 20th September. Information on how to buy tick-
ets for this great event will come out next week. Make sure you get yours so you don’t miss out. We
will be doing a matinee and a night performance on this day.
P&C Disco
Our combined P&C disco will be held on Thursday 6th September. Come along and join in the fun on
the night.
Calling all new Kindergarten students for 2019
Do you know of someone who has a child who will be joining us next year? If so, make sure they ring
the school and put down their name to come along to our Teddy Bear Picnic on the 27 th September.
Please pass this information along to family and friends so no-one misses out.
Take care and have a wonderful week
