4 Parental Controls

You can use the following ParentalControls to restrict certain featuresof this software.

● Sharing Images/Audio/Video/LongText DataRestricts the exchange of songsand messages with other users.Restricts sharing parts of Miicharacters' profiles via Local Play.

● Online interactionRestricts the sending/receiving ofMii characters and items viaSpotPass.

● StreetPassRestricts the sending/receiving ofMii characters and items viaStreetPass.

5 Introduction

Tomodachi Life is a game where youcan make Mii characters of yourfamily, friends and other people,and watch over them as theyinteract on a tiny island in theocean. You can interact with the Miicharacters, solve their problems andenjoy watching them go about theirdaily activities. The Mii charactersneed care and attention to thrive.But what kinds of things mighthappen next? You'll just have tofind out!

6 Basic Controls

You can use youNintendo 3Dsystem to looaround when yodo things like givina Mii character a new room. Pleasefollow the instructions accordingly.

8 Making Mii Characters

Follow the instructions to import aMii character easily from Mii Makerbefore setting a profile.

Creating a Mii character in this gameworks just the same as inMii Maker™. However, you can gofurther by filling in a profile, makingsure the name is pronouncedcorrectly, adding a voice, andsetting a personality with somesimple Touch Screen controls. Justfollow the instructions and theflashing icons on the Touch Screen.Filling in the profile can make thingsmore fun later.

♦ Please refer to the OperationsManual for your system for moreinformation about creating andusing Mii characters.

You can have up to 100 Miicharacters living on your island.

You can even transfer Mii charactersfrom Mii Maker on Wii U™ to yourNintendo 3DS system, then justfollow the same steps as whentransferring Mii characters fromMii Maker.

9 Saving and Deleting Data

You can savpictures of thgame to SD Carand then view theiNintendo 3DS Camera. You can alsoeasily post them on socialnetworking sites with Nintendo 3DSImage Share.

Tap SAVE, or pre , on themap screen (p. 10) to save yourprogress. This game does not saveautomatically, so don't forget tosave whenever you have beenplaying for a while or want to take abreak.

You can only have one save file at atime for Tomodachi Life.

Solving problems and givingpresents increases a Mii's happiness.When a Mii levels up because theirmeter is full, you can give them apresent such as a song, gift, roominterior, or phrase. The Miicharacters on the island don't haveproblems all the time. If everythingis going fine, why not take a breakand check in on them later?

11 Shops and Buildings

♦ QR Code patterns you createinclude the island name and otherMii profile information, such asthe personality and voice but notrelationships, items or clothing(apart from the clothes the Mii isalready wearing).

You can create Mii QR Codepatterns or scan them. QR Codepatterns you create are saved to SDCard.

♦ Select a Mii received fromanother player and hold todelete the Mii and block the otherplayer.

You can see all of your islanders ina list and edit their profiles.

Create new Mii characters orconnect with other Tomodachi Lifeplayers (p. 12) in the town hall.

Shops and other buildings pop upon your island as you make progressin the game.

♦ To communicate using thisfeature, all players must activateStreetPass for this software ontheir Nintendo 3DS systems.

♦ The name of your island, Miicharacters' nicknames andmessages you send to otherislands via explorers overStreetPass can be seen by otherplayers.

♦ You can also connect with otherplayers using StreetPass relaypoints. Please refer to the officialNintendo website for furtherinformation.

♦ Hold while touching an islandin the Island Ranking Board todelete it from the list.

14 Import Items & Letters

♦ While receiving letters orwatching events involvingexplorers that have returned toyour island, hold to put theplayer they have visited on theblocked-user list.

♦ If you swap the system or GameCard, or format the systemmemory, you will need toreactivate SpotPass.

♦ Data received via SpotPass issaved to SD Card. It isrecommended not to remove theSD Card from the system.

Even when you're not playing thegame, you will automatically receiveimport items and explorers' letters,and explorers may come back toyour island for a short time if yoursystem is in Sleep Mode andconnected to the internet.
