Short talks that focus on a specific job/topic carried out by the supervisor or the senior person.

e.g. High pressure testing, manual handling, lifting …

TBT is a two way communication responsibility. Help inform inexperienced workers and provide

reminders to experienced workers of correct control measures.

We provide this training to improve the quality of the TBT at AlMansoori & encourage HSEQ to become everyone’s responsibility.

Determine the responsibilities of employees & supervisors.

Allow supervisor and workers to explore the risks of specific HSEQ issues and think about ways to deal with them.

Encourage worker engagement.

and ensure that everybody understand then keep monitoring them.

Isolation (lock out)Ensure that Lockout devices identify the individual users, and that:-Discuss the importance of the lock out/tagout.-It is used when performing maintenance or you need the isolation of an energy source e.g. electricity or mechanical.

Access and Exit- Identify all exit routes and ensure they are clear

and unobstructed.- Exit door must be unlocked.- The number of exit routes must be adequate.- Must meet minimum height & width requirements.- Muster point, wind socks & confined spaces to be

clearly set.

No Blame CultureReport any mistake that happened immediately, report all accident, failure, equipment damage, we will not blame you unless there is evidence of intentional.

Encourage Questions and Two Way Discussions- Tell workers to ask any questions as you go along.- Tell them not to be afraid to ask.- At the end of the TBT ask some crew members to

repeat the TBT to verify their understanding.

Remember?Remember?

Allow enough time e.g. 10-15 minutes. Do not assume you need to know all the information –

draw on others’ experience. Do not read from a script. You will lose the interest of

your audience if you do!

Know your material. Do not get side tracked by other topics. Make eye-contact. Make sure your voice carries to the back of the

room. Involve staff using open questions. Summarise key points. Do not speak too quickly or too slowly. Keep an eye on your timings. Translate what you said or ask somebody to do, if

there are different tongue.
