Setup ConsideraAonsJust like any new business there are things that will need to be considered before using Toolkit to merchandise and manage your new website. Here are a few of the ques;ons that this manual will help answer.
1. Should actual suppliers be listed online? 2. Should real model numbers be used online? 3. What categories will be used on the web? 4. Is e-‐commerce going to be enabled for the website?
Website ConfiguraAonTo start the program, click on the Toolkit icon on your computers task bar or desktop. Setup starts with the main screen of Toolkit. The Program Se*ngs bu`on will take you to the Program Se*ngs screen where all the main se1ngs of Toolkit are found.
7
Program SeFngsIn the Program Se*ngs screen there are two content tabs. The Site Iden;ty tab contains the store’s informa;on and should be filled by the user. The Creden;als tab will be updated by a Toolkit technician as the site is ready to be ac;vated.NOTE: The Secure Communica;ons checkmark should only be selected if the site has an SSL cer;ficate.

Main Page ImagesMain Page Images are images that are shown on the homepage of the website. These images are the first thing a customer sees when naviga;ng your website, hence the importance of having dis;nc;ve graphics to a`ract a`en;on. To assign content to panels, click on the Main Page Images bu`on to open the Main Image Selec2on Editor.
Each image has its own panel, some websites layouts have more than others (from 1 to 9 panels), but the process of assigning images to a selected panel is always the the same.

Item Name SeFngsBuilding the item nameUnder Field Op;ons, there are several op;ons from which you can build the Item Name for your inventory items on the website.
The website’s item’s names can be vague by only showing the item’s descrip;on and/or model number, or the item name can get very detailed by showing the model, size, cover/finish, dimensions, and collec;on, etc. The item’s name configura;on is of key importance to a`ract poten;al customers to your website.
To select which op;ons will be used to build the Item Name, click on the appropriate name under the Field Op;ons text Field and click on the right poin;ng arrow to add the op;on to the Selected Fields area. To remove the item, select it and click the leC poin;ng arrow. You can add as many op;ons as you wish.

IMPORTANT: By using the Inventory Item Editor you also have the op;on to rewrite or edit the Item Name on an item by item basis. Go to Inventory Item Editor sec;on.
Use Item Name instead of ModelAlong with the descrip;on, instead of showing the item’s model number online the item’s SKU number may appear. The item number or SKU is the number related to the item in Furniture Wizard. This comes handy when you do not want customers to see the actual vendor’s model on the item when they visit your website. To select this op;on, below Field Op;ons click the checkbox that states Use Item Number instead of Model.

IMPORTANT: Price Text will always override price If selected for an item. I you wish to do this on just some of your items, you can leave the Default Price Text field blank. Go to Inventory Item Editor sec;on to read more.
Default Fall-‐Back VendorWhen adding an item to Toolkit there might be a possibility that there is no vendor assigned to the item. If a supplier is missing a fallback vendor may be selected to automa;cally fill for a missing supplier. To set this, select a default supplier under the Default Fall-‐back Vendor Field.
21
QuanAAes (Stock management)Stock management is extensively implemented on our websites and most of the configura;on is done by our technicians. Nevertheless, Toolkit offers various controls for displaying stock according to your needs. By default, In-‐Stock items are labeled as In-‐stock while Out-‐of-‐Stock items are labeled as Out-‐of-‐Stock and can not be added to a e-‐commerce cart.
Show Quan;tyCheck the Show quan;ty for all items checkbox to show the quan;ty (number) for In-‐Stock items.
BranchTo affect the stock configura;on on a par;cular branch, click on the downward bu`on of the Branch field to display your available branches. Select the desired one from the drop down.IMPORTANT: By selec;ng a branch, the upload of Packages is automa;cally disabled. Leave the field blank if you are uploading Packages as part of your website inventory.
Stock BufferThe Stock Buffer allows you to add any quan;ty to your exis;ng inventory, this func;on makes it easy to display Out-‐of-‐Stock items on your website as if they were In-‐Stock. To add a number just place the cursor over the text field below Stock Buffer and type in a number.
Hide Out-‐of-‐Stock itemsChecking the Hide Out-‐of-‐Stock items checkbox, hides your Out-‐of-‐Stock items from your website.

Exit screenTo exit Website Se*ngs simply click the Exit bu`on or use the keyboard shortcut ALT +X and all changes will be automa;cally saved.
22
Custom Stock MessageToolkit allows you to create a Custom Stock Message for Out-‐of-‐ Stock items. This is very useful in cases where you want to offer the ability to add an Out-‐of-‐Stock item to the cart, and show an Es;mate Time of Arrival message to the buyer of that item.
The ETA message can be added to Out-‐of-‐Stock items in bulk by Manufacturer, or on an item per item basis. (see page x for this feature)
Create ETA message by manufacturerTo create an ETA message by manufacturer, open the Furniture Wizard applica;on by clicking on the Wizard’s Hat icon located in your computer’s desktop, start menu or by searching for the applica;on.

Category ManagementTo manage the website’s categories, click on the Category Management bu`on on the Program Se*ngs screen to open the Web Category Manager screen. In the Web Category Manager screen, categories may be added, renamed, deleted, or merged.
The Category TreeWhen considering categories for the website, it is best to plan ahead and sketch how your Category Tree will branch out. Think of the Category Tree as the founda;on of your website. We recommend having eight to ten Main Categories. That will make them fit easily on the naviga;on bar of your website; categories should be somewhat descrip;ve of its Subcategories such as, bedroom, dining room, etc.
You can create up to 3 levels of naviga;on on your Category Tree. Depending on the hierarchy level in which the category resides we will refer to these categories as follows:
Level1: Main CategoryLevel 2: SubcategoryLevel 3: Type
25
Web Category ManagerExpand AllExpands the Category Tree to show Main Categories, Subcategories and Types.
Collapse AllCollapses the Category Tree to show only Main Categories: the first level of the Category Tree.
Uncheck AllRemoves checkmarks from all the Category Tree’s checkboxes.
NOTE: When a category has a node with a minus sign to the leC of it, it means it is a Parent Category which is expanded and the Subcategories or Types it contains -‐children-‐ are plainly visible. If it has a plus sign, this means it is a Parent Category that is collapsed and its children are not visible.
Parent and Children CategoriesA Parent Category is one from which addi;onal Categories are derived on a lower hierarchical level on the naviga;on tree. These derived categories we call children.
In other words, when a Main Category has Subcategories assigned to it, the Main Category becomes the parent and the Subcategories become the children. When a Subcategory has Types assigned to it, the Subcategory becomes the parent and the Types become the children.
26

Room EditorIMPORTANT: Since Toolkit version 1.53, the Room Editor feature has been deprecated to the new Category Management tool. Since now it is possible to have an item assigned to several categories at a ;me, the ‘Shop by Room’ feature is now replaced by this feature. You can assign the ‘Room’ func;onality to a Main Category and have items be assigned to the ‘Rooms’ category as well as to other categories on your naviga;on tree.
Never the less, you can s;ll use the Room Editor if you are running an older website. The room editor allows items to be assigned a room no ma`er what category the item is located in.
