Vested in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and owned by me: Lionel Douglas. I’m a Cartoonist and Graphic Designer spe-cialized in creating nostalgic work, inspired from cartoons, retro advertisements, comics and street art. I mostly start off sketching out ideas, and create the end-result behind the screen, resulting in a more “organic“ presentation.

I am best known for creating original illustrations and charac-ters, for use in works like t-shirt designs, printed and digital media. I create logos that can represent an organization or brand that it their character and service or product. Busi-nesses for education, streetwear, arts and culture, interrac-tive media, young people and food are at the right place at ToonYork!

An additional style I developed, mainly for projects direc-ted at kids and usage on information-based work like info-graphics. The “Flatoon“ style is colorful by nature and great for telling stories with personality. Despite its strong digital presentation, these too can be created from sketches!

Logos & Graphic Design

Logos and graphic work should always carry the character of the business, brand or person it represents. ToonYork dedi-cates itsself in finding creative and well-thought out ways to create graphic products to do just that! Like with illustrations, there’s no pain in getting the hands dirty through traditional steps like sketching, or the use of ink or markers to get the job done.
