I moved to Navarrenx last summer, a small village in the south of France…Navarrenx was built in the 16th century (500 years ago).It has huge stone walls that circle it called the Ramparts which are 1657 meters long; it is next to a river and has a bridge that was first built in the 12th century (a really long time ago) and was rebuilt in the 16th century! In Navarrenx there is a market every Wednesday, which has been there for hundreds of years, they sell fish, bread, fruit, cheese, vegetables, meat and pizza (yum yum!).Unlike Dublin, (where I come from) Navarrenx is quiet with not a lot of cars, no noisy traffic lights and all the shops

close at 7:00pm. However there always seems to be things happening in Navarrenx…concerts, carnivals, fairs…In the last weekend of January there is a big agricultural fair, you can see tractors, horses and other farmer gadgets but my favorite part is the bumper cars and the candyfloss! The other nice thing in Navarrenx is that if you live in the village you can just walk over to your friend’s house or meet them at the park (that way you can buy sweets without your mum and dad knowing!).Of course, I miss Ireland and my friends and speaking English instead of French (which I learnt in school) but I am still happy in my 500 year old house with it’s pointy roof and white shutters!!

1) Diary of a Wimpy Kid (The Ugly Truth) by Jeff Kinney. This book is narrated by a ‘wimpy’ guy called Greg who writes in his diary, sorry journal- seriously funny, un-put-down-able!

2) Billionaire Boy by David Walliams. A rag to riches story about a boy whose father comes up with an amazing invention - a gripping and a humorous read.

3) The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole aged 13 and ¾ by Sue Thompson. Another diary format, about a boy called Adrian and his bizarre family. - hilarious, you won’t be able to stop reading this one!

4) Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. The tale of two foxes who try to outwit three wicked farmers - enthralling plot, it has been made into an excellent movie.

Cats are the most popular pets in the world

.They are cute and quick minded. Cats like

ham, lamb, chicken and other meats. They

like to chase things and a good exercise is to

get a strand of string and wave it around for

them to catch.Cats are easy to look after and

don’t need full on attention.

A cat can be bought in on its own or in twos

or so on.Cats will fight with one and other.

They can be brought up with dogs.

Feed them twice a day.Groom them as much as possible.Give them fresh water.Have a bed ready for it.Never squeeze the cat or harm it in any way!

Q. Where do you work?Ans - In Paris - although I travel a lot, depending on which part of the world is in trouble!

Q. At what age did you start wanting to be a journalist?Ans - At 14.

Q. What did you want to be when you were younger?Ans - A university professor - it seemed very intellectual!

Q. What did you study in college? Ans - Economics in undergrad, Journalism in Grad.

Q. What is your favorite food? Ans - Rice! Rice is very nice!

Find out about REAL journalism!

For this magazine’s first interview, I have had the honor of

interviewing a professional journalist: Leela Jacinto! Leela

Jacinto works for France24 a Paris-based international

news channel broadcasting in English, French and Arabic.

She works as a TV and Internet reporter, on the Web, you

don't just write - you do video reporting, audio interviews

and photo slideshows as well. It’s called multimedia

reporting.Find out about a professional journalist’s real job…

Q. How long have you been a journalist? Ans - 22 years!

Q. What is your favorite part of being a journalist? Ans. - My favorite part of being a journalist is the ability to meet people, to hear their stories. As a journalist you get a license to ask strangers questions you sometimes wouldn't ask your best friend. I also LOVE journalism because it exposes me to so many parts of the world.

Q. Do you have any advice to give us? Ans. Lots of advice: don't take up journalism if you want to be rich . This is a VERY exciting profession, but you don't make lots of money. If you're a good journalist, you will make a comfortable living. But there are other professions that pay much more. So if this profession doesn't impassion you, don't take it up. Also, read history. Be bold - never be afraid to ask questions, don't be scared of what people think of you. Listen to all sides. If you're a journalist, everybody wants you to see only their side of an issue or an argument. But you have to be open to all sides - even the ones you don't like!

Q. Do you think we will ever be famous? Ans .If you are a good journalist you may get some fame. But if fame is all you seek in journalism, you won't be famous, Be the best journalist you can and leave the rest to fate - :)

In my opinion, the award for the greatest Nintendo Wii game for kids would have to go to New Super Mario Bros. Believe me! You can quite happily pass away hours and hours in complete happiness, playing this game. You have a choice either to play with friends, or - if you’re friends are all tied up - you can even play it solo. The idea of the game is to

progress through nine different worlds. World 1 is the easiest, but it gets harder and harder as you get up through the levels. A real challenge! If you get your hands on a chance to play this super game, you’ll get great fun out of trying to defeat the villain, Bowser Junior. He kidnaps Princess Peach at the beginning of the game and it is your job to overpower Bowser and rescue Princess Peach. Good Luck - You’ll need it!

I think one of the best wii games

for girls is Just Dance! Of course

I’m sure many boys enjoy it too but

I don’t think it’s one of their

favorites…Just Dance 1 includes over 30

great songs such as : Girls just

want to have fun, Hot and Cold,

Fame, U can’t touch this… and many

more! The object of the game is to simply

imitate the dancer on the screen as

though the person dancing was your

reflection and get as many points

as you can! Just Dance 2 is even

more popular then the first with

over 5 million games sold ! Both

games are fun and can be played by

one or more persons. After these games you will become

a professional dancer!!! I hope you

enjoy this awesome game as much

as I do!!!
