Service Schools Eligibility Requirements
Sailor must:Be physically qualified.Have no more than 1 NJP within 18
months preceding application.Have no court-martial convictions.If not rated, must have 12 months on
board to request, 18 months on board to transfer.

weeks, considered a PCS move.

TEMADDINS: Sailors return to their command and rotation
continues. TEMDUINS:
Neutral duty DUINS:
If reporting from shore duty, it is considered a continuation of shore duty.
If reporting from sea duty, it Is considered neutral duty.
If school is 18 months or longer, it is considered shore duty.

requirements for a high school diploma or equivalent credential.
Fully funded under the Tuition Assistance Program.

Classes:Are designed to improve competency
in reading, English, and math.Offer two modes of delivery:
Instructor-led, which is facilitated and offered worldwide on demand.
Self-paced, which is “taught” using computerized courseware at 24 Navy College Learning Centers.
Supports “Perform To Serve.”

Tuition Assistance (TA) Eligibility
Sailors must:Be on active duty for the entire length of the
course.Attend an institution accredited and recognized
by the Department of Education.Provide grades for TA funded courses.Reimburse “Ws” (voluntary withdrawal) and
grade of “F” (failure).Agree to remain on active duty for at least two
years upon completion of courses funded by TA (officer only).
Must be counseled by Navy College Office staff.

Navy College Program for Afloat College Education (NCPACE)
Provides shipboard personnel with educational opportunities comparable to those available ashore.
Offers free tuition – Students only pay for books and other instructional materials.
Is offered on all US naval vessels and deployable squadrons assigned to Type 2 and Type 4 UICs.
Offers two modes of delivery: Instructor-led Distance learning

Goal of NCPDLP: To make available rating relevant
educational opportunities worldwide to Sailors through a variety of distance learning instructional modes.
NCPDLP Institutions are members of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Navy (SOCNAV).

Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Navy (SOCNAV)
SOCNAV:Is a system of college curriculum
networks designed for Sailors and their adult family members.
Consists of groups of colleges that have agreed to accept each other's courses in a particular program of study.
Allows students to move freely among network colleges without being reevaluated or worrying about whether courses will transfer.

SOCNAV Levels:SOCNAV-2 is the Associate’s Degree
network program.SOCNAV-4 is the Bachelor's Degree

USMAP:Is a system by which active duty service
members can earn certification for skills learned through documented work experience.
Provides Department of Labor (DOL)-registered apprenticeships to active duty service members.
Provides Sailors with the nationally recognized "Certificate of Completion" from the DOL upon program completion.
