Some people give up on job searching between Thanksgiving and New Year’s. Don’t be one of

them! Employers are still hiring (especially major retailers) and there may be less

competition from other job seekers this time of year. In addition, companies that budget on

an annual basis may have jobs they need to hire for the upcoming year. Utilize your local

Mental Health Specialist I/II/III: County of Del Norte Currently has one opening for the position of Mental Health Specialist for the Department of Health &

Human Services-LPS Conservator. Position entails: Under supervision performs a wide variety of routine to complex mental health tasks in the delivery of

services, crisis intervention and medication support services; to provide outreach emergency services in crisis situations. Provides psychiatric work involving

children and adults that includes rehabilitation counseling on an individual, group or family basis. Evaluates patients in a variety of settings including field

situations for development of service plans and serves as plan coordinator when required. Serves as member of the quality improvement/multidisciplinary team

providing critical input relating to patient diagnosis and recommended service plans. Participates in case conference and consults with psychiatric staff to review

patient cases and medication issues. Evaluates patients for voluntary and involuntary commitment and signs commitment documents for clients requiring

hospitalization when necessary. Prepares detailed patient record documentation and maintains case records, including intake and referral plans, progress notes,

child and adult clinical assessments. Serves as staff to the adult day rehabilitation program or other services. Serves as staff to the access coordination team

providing a wide range of crisis and evaluative services including performing triage. Performs educational services to specific patients or segments of the

mental health population. Provides community training for groups and public in areas such as parenting, addressing combative clients, etc. Qualifications: Mental

Health Specialist I: Successful completion of sixty (60) semester units or ninety (90) quarter units from an accredited college or university, with at least thirty (30)

units in behavioral science, psychology or related field. And Four (4) years of full time experience working in a social service, mental health, or substance abuse

setting. Mental Health Specialist II: A baccalaureate degree in behavioral science, psychology or related field. And Four (4) years’ experience in a mental health

setting as a specialist of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment. Up to two years of graduate professional education may be substituted for

the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. Mental Health Specialist III: A baccalaureate degree in behavioral science, psychology or related field. And

Four (4) years’ experience in a mental health setting as a specialist of physical restoration, social adjustment, or vocational adjustment. Up to two years of graduate

professional education may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis. And minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Mental Health

area/persons. Records meeting minutes for CALPIA safety meetings. Has regular, direct responsibility for work supervision, on-the-job training, and work

performance evaluation of at least two inmates who substantially replace civil service employees for a total of at least 120 hours per pay period. Supervises inmate

clerks in areas associated with maintenance program reporting, sales, shipping and procurement. Plans inmate work schedules, makes assignments, hires and

trains inmate workers. Assigns, tracks and schedules inmates for forklift training and for the Respirator Protection Program. Implements the individual

components of the Industry Employment Program training and motivating inmates in personal development through their participation in the program.

Qualifications: Must be experienced in Microsoft Office programs, ability to multi-task; flexibility; self-motivating, excellent attendance; organizational skills;

County Engineer: County of Del Norte currently has one vacancy for the position of County Engineer in the Del Norte County Community Development

Department. Starting Wage for the position is: $2,776.64 to $3,375.01 depending on experience. Position entails: Assist the Community Development Director in

planning, coordination and administration of the Engineering/Surveying Division. Has responsible charge for County engineering functions including approval of

construction improvement drawings and Public Works facilities. Supervises and reviews construction inspections of Public Works contracts including preparations

of change orders, project record keeping, processing progress payments and coordinating grants and permits. May serve as County Surveyor, signing all records of

survey, parcel maps, and subdivision maps, maintaining compliance with the Land Surveyors Act and the Subdivision Map Act. Reviews and oversees the preparation

Advisory Committee to the Local Transportation Commission. Represents the division at committee and public meetings, including the Board of Supervisors when

necessary. Supervises division personnel including participation in the hiring, discipline, and evaluation of the employees and training of the new division employees.

Performs related duties as required. Qualifications: A valid California Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one at the time of hire. Bachelor’s degree in civil

engineering. Possession of Certification as a Civil Engineer by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. Authorization to practice land surveying
