Before the discussion of the nature of money, teachers can describe the barter system to let students understand why ‘money’ was created.

Ask students whether they have overseas travel experience or not. Ask them if they can use HKD during their trips. If not , what should they do?Student should know that they may not be able to pay Hong Kong dollars there and what they need is the local currency of that country.
