Projects for rural sewerage or small-

scale sewerage are today being car-

ried out in many rural towns through-

out Japan. These projects hold the

promise of an improved living envi-

ronment for the people in these

communities.

Some of these towns have relatively

small populations, and some areas

have complicated geographical fea-

tures.

Taking into account these varying

conditions, Torishima has developed

economical sewage delivery systems

which use the pressure system and

the vacuum system, as well as the

conventional gravity system.In addi-

tion to these systems,we have devel-

oped small-scale sewage disposal

facilities including those accredited as

the Japanese Association of Rural

Sewerage (JARUS) Method. In this

field and in other areas, Torishima

is using our total engineering technol-

ogy to meet the various needs of

customers.
