cOnnectOr (interface) SATA and Micro SATA are compatible with HDDs. M2 and mSATA are also available.

dramFor cache

cOntrOller The controller is the core device of the SSD, enabling fast read/write performance, leveling, and enhanced reliability.

nand flaSh memOry Data is stored in a NAND flash memory array, which features Toshiba’s MLC and SLC NAND technology to achieve high storage capacities and best performance.

client SOlid State drive

Solid State Drive (SSD) is a storage product*1 that uses semiconductor memory (NAND flash memory)*2 as a storage cell.

Since SSDs have no moving parts, they offer the following features:

• Very high read performance• Greater resistance to shock and vibration• Silent operation

An added feature is the low power consumption in standby modus.

cOnnectOr (interface)PATA, SATA and SAS are prepared for use and process signals.

SPindle mOtOrIt is responsible for spinning the platters, allowing HDDs to operate.

media Data is read and written by the magnetic head.

Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a storage product that “reads” and “writes” to a high velocity rotation disk recording medium (media) using a magnetic head.

In 1984, Toshiba developed a new type of semiconductor memory called flash memory. In 1987, NAND flash memory was developed and became the internationally standardized memory device, leading the industry into the next generation.

This award is presented to factories in Asia that show superior results in terms of improvement and innovation, commending them as models for the Japanese manufacturing industry. It was founded by the Japan Management Association in 2011. Toshiba Information equipment (Philippines), Inc. (TIP), which manufactures HDDs and SSDs, won the “Factory Management Award” in october 2011. This “Factory Management Award” recognizes comprehen-sively high-level and good balance in factory management.
