How to: App version on iPad & iPhones / Android tablets & phones The App version looks very similar to the new web version. The key difference is that on the App you usually cannot view more than one screen at a time.

1. Open BBO icon from the screen 2. Enter user name and password and Log in

3. Tap on Casual under PLAY OR WATCH BRIDGE

4. Tap on All Public and Private Clubs

5. Tap on Public Clubs and swipe down to find and then tap on The Total Points Tournament Bridge Club

6. This is the club lobby before any tables are made. Tap Open Tables and Full Tables to look for tables. Wait until you see TD table.

7. Look for table where TD is the host. 8. Tap on box under the TD’s name to sit in kibitz

there. If TD profile comes up you can Join from there too.

9. You are now a kibitzer at the TD table.

Watch for announcements and chat messages.

10. Tap on People and then on Kibitzers to see

who is in kibitz 11. Find a partner and sign up with the TD in chat

or private chat

12. Tap on the three lines so box shows and Tap on Chat and the down arrow to select where to chat to.

14. To chat to a particular person you can either tap on Chat, as shown above and enter their name

or you can tap on their name. This can be found in the list of friends or kibitzers which displays when tapping People. Then enter message in dialog box and click on Chat.

13. Private – to one person of your choice only. Table – is to anyone at the table either in kibitz or sitting at a seat.

Kibitzers – to those in kibitz at the table you are on. Club – chat goes to anyone in the club but some

playing on other versions of BBO may not see club chat unless they are seated at a table.

Lobby – chat goes to everyone in BBO – this is not needed in Total Points.

Sit at a table

1. When you see your assignment announced

then tap on the back arrow to return to the club lobby. Look for the table host (first name in the announced pairings). Tap on one the boxes opposite to the direction of the host. Your partner will take the other seat. If you get a message that you are not allowed to sit it usually means that your partner has taken that seat.

2. Some table hosts will reserve a seat for you. This action sends you an invitation. Accept by tapping Yes.

3. When round is completed, return to TD table tapping the back arrow to leave the table. Before leaving the table check the score with the opponents.

4. Rejoin the TD table in kibitz.

Set a new table

1. From the club lobby tap on Start Table. 2. Tap under Scoring where indicated to get box with options and select Total Points. For privacy options make sure these are “on” (they will appear as yellow). Allow kibitzers. Allow kibitzers to chat with players. Permission required to play. All other buttons must be "off" (they will appear white)

3. Tap on Start Table.

4. Tap on the seat you want to sit in.

5. Tap to Accept partner or opponents to sit otherwise tap Reject.

Reserve Seats This is discouraged because you must type the name exactly as used on BBO or the person cannot sit. But sometimes, partners or opponents have trouble getting to the table and require a reservation (which sends an invitation for them to join the table). There are two ways to reserve seats for partner or opponents: when setting the table or after you are seated at the table.

1. When setting the table, you can reserve any

seat by entering the player’s name in one of the seats. Then tap on Start Table.

2. To reserve the seat after having made the table, tap on the lines in the blue box and select Table Options to open up the table settings box. Then type the name in the dialog box under the direction and Reserve – enter the name and tap Apply and Close.

3. You can also reserve a seat by tapping on the seat and then Reserve in the box.

4. There are two ways to remove a player or remove the reserve on the seat from the table. Either tab on the player’s name and then Remove or open Table Options and tab on the player’s name and Clear.

Change table settings

1. If the TD asks you to change table settings (or if you have made a mistake), tap on the three lines in the blue box to open up a dialog box and select Table Options. This opens the settings box and you can change the settings.

However if you accidentally open a table that is not set to Total Points you will have to leave that table to create one that is Total Points as this setting cannot be changed once table is made.
