Iguaçu Falls is One of the great natural wonders of the world, Iguaçu Falls is situated on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The waterfall system consists of 275 falls along the Iguazu River. The most impressive of them all is the Devil’s Throat a U-shaped with a height of 82 meter (269 ft).

Amazon River  has over 3,000 recognized species of fish and new species are still being discovered. The Amazon Basin is covered by half of the planet’s remaining rainforests.

Salvador Beaches is the capital of the state of Bahia, with an attractive colonial town, a vibrant musical scene and loads of exceptional beaches all around. The beaches range from calm inlets, ideal for swimming, diving and sailing, as well as open sea inlets with strong waves, popular with surfers.

CULTURE When invited to dinner or an event, do not

under-dress. It is considered more appropriate to over-dress than to appear too casual in appearance.

Always bring the hostess a small gift of gratitude (such as a glass of wine or some fresh flowers).

Avoid giving anyone a gift that is black or purple, as these are perceived as mourning colours.

Festival The Carnival is celebrated in Brazil every

year, 46 days before the Easter festival. Carnival is derived from the word carnelevare, wich literally translates to "removal of meat". The roots of the festival are believed to be in the tradition of Roman Catholics when they abstained from meat and alcohol on certain days as a method to drive away bad things from their life.

RIO DE JANEIRO One of the world's largest parties, Carnaval –

in all its colourful, hedonistic bacchanalia – is virtually synonymous with Rio. Held over five days of revelry during Easter, from the Friday to the Tuesday preceding Ash Wednesday, residents of Rio begin the partying months in advance.
