It issafe toconclude thatFruskaGoraDanubeRegionhasgreatpotential fortourismdevelopmentwhichmaybebasedonruralpotentialoftheareawithhighpotential use of agriculture, old handicrafts, gastronomy and eventswithin theRegion. On the other hand, nature protected areas and significant culturalhistoricalheritagewithintheregionprovidestoopportunity forspecial interesttou drism evelopment.

› Tourism Stakeholders

The support of tourism stakeholders is essential for the development, successful operation, and long term sustainability of tourism. Tourismstakeholdersincludemanydifferenttypesofgroupsdependingontheirinfluence,areaofbusiness,possibilitiesofrcooper5ationandgeographicalarea.However,not all stakeholders have the same level of interest in sustainable tourismdevelopment and may be less active or not active at all. Moreover, somestakeholders are more important than others in determining the success ofactivities.Theprimarydatacollectioninvolvedallfivemunicipalitiesoftheregionand focused on primary targeted of stakeholders, excluding the national andinternational level with regards to the needs of the project activities andguidelines of contracting authority. Data were analyzed using content analysis.Thestudyfoundseveralmajorgroupsofstakeholdertotheimplementationofthesustainable tourism development: governmental organizations (tourismorganizations, local councils, and government departments), associations(chambersofcommerce, civilsocietyorganizations)andsouvenirsuppliersanddhandcrafts in local community organizations. The results validate the use ofstakeholder theory as amean to understand stakeholders’ point of view, goalsandissuesintheimplementationofsustainabletourismdevelopment.
