MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENTThe Superintendent ensures that all Maintenance personnel work safely and in accordance with all regulatory requirements such as OSHA, cGMP and DEA requirements while ensuring that Maintenance documentation (WFI, calibrations, etc.) are in a state of audit readiness at all times. The Superintendent is responsible for grounds and maintenance, the Water for Injection (WFI) system, and coordinates small to medium sized capital projects as required, including writing CARs (capital appropriation
requests). The Superintendent acts as the go between for the Maintenance Department by coordinating requests for labor from the Engineering, Operations, Safety and Laboratory Departments. The Superintendent utilizes the Six Sigma approach to achieve cost savings goals for the Maintenance Department and facility. The Superintendent writes and updates calibration, WFI and general maintenance SOPs and completes deviation paperwork as necessary.
Job Qualifi cations include, BS ChE or related, High School, with 5 or more years experience is required. Knowledge of plant operations, Knowledge of State and Federal regulations, Vision and the ability to adapt to changing environment, Ability to drive change throughout the department and site, Good communication and organization skills, Good computer skills. Due to a retirement, the City of Clear Lake is seeking applicants for the position of Utility Billing Clerk. This, initially, will be a regular part-time position (up to 35 hours a week), with potential for it to expand to full-time (40 hours per week). This is a rare opportunity and it is anticipated that the response will be overwhelming.
The utility billing clerk must possess demonstrated public relations, interpersonal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills. The utility billing clerk must also have the ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with other city employees, citizens, and customers.
Duties include: provides accurate utility billing information; processes and maintains utility transactions; receives, completes and maintains records of maintenance and inspections work orders; accesses utility billing paperwork and computer database for customer billing records; performs other related duties as assigned. Must be willing to learn and adapt to new computer programs and not be intimidated by changing technology.
Minimum Qualifi cations include: a High School Diploma or GED, with a college degree in business, fi nance, or accounting preferred. Two (2) years’ work experience in accounting, fi nance, and public relations are strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered. Requires strong oral and written communication skills. Must possess a valid Iowa Driver’s license. Residency within the City limits of Clear Lake strongly preferred. Work involves sedentary to light work in an offi ce setting. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
Starting salary is commensurate with experience, not less than between $12.00 and 13.00 per hour, with benefi ts. This position is under the general direction of the Finance Offi cer.
