In 2018, the Toyo Ink Group adopted a new corporate vision for the next ten years, the Scientific Innovation Chain 2027
(SIC27). In accordance with the SIC27, we will carry out and link together the Group’s business activities through
science-based methodologies and innovative ideas. In doing so, we aspire to evolve into a company that continues to grow
and create value over the next decade through to our 200th anniversary and beyond.
Based on the Group’s corporate policy, we have endeavored to “contribute to the affluence and culture of people
worldwide” and “create lifestyle value” -- always from the perspective of the consumer. Under SIC27, we will broaden our

The origin of the Toyo Ink Group, a world leader in colorants, lies in our organic
pigment synthesis technology. In addition, the core nano-dispersion technology of the
Colorants and Functional Materials segment has been refined over a century of ink and
coating manufacturing experience. This technology has gone beyond traditional color
applications and has evolved into such advanced fields as color filter pastes for LCDs,
color resist inks, carbon nanotubes, among many others.
Leveraging its original resins, a core material used in Group products, the Polymers and
Coatings segment develops a variety of solutions tailored to the needs of the times.
Based on its synthesis and coating processing technologies, a large number of its
functional products are used in many applications indispensable to everyday life, such
as automotive and electronics, solar cells for energy, medical and healthcare, and
many more.
The Packaging Materials segment provides diverse high-performance solutions for the
manufacturing and processing of packages that are essential to our daily living. For the
food packaging market where consumer safety and protection is of paramount
importance, the segment offers water-based inks and adhesives, solvent-free inks,
among other products. With the aim of developing petroleum-free materials and a
more sustainable society, the segment continues to be a frontrunner in the development
of biomass solutions.
The genesis of the Toyo Ink Group is rooted in the Printing and Information segment, an
important foundation of our business today. By taking advantage of the Group's
strength of integrated production from raw materials such as pigments and resins down
to the end-product, the segment delivers diversified products such as eco-friendly
products and highly funct ional UV inks, whi le providing pr in t ing process
standardization support and other services to its customers.
