Five-story, 93,000 sf building designed and constructed to LEED standards to achieve
a “Platinum” rating. The building consists of a circulation lobby, lecture rooms, laboratory/
classroom teaching areas, a distance learning classroom, faculty offi ces and multiple student
areas. The satellite chiller expansion project involved providing a new chiller and cooling towers
to supplement the existing chiller plant.
Drexel University, LeBow College of BusinessPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
A 12-story, 177,500 sf facility housing classrooms, auditoria, computer labs, offi ces for faculty,
administrative and student services, lounges for both students and faculty, and a behavioral
research laboratory. The building is a steel structure with a stepped concrete matt slab
foundation, fully sprinklered and conditioned with a combined VAV and chilled beam system.
The building envelope is a combination of precast panels and curtain wall system.
University of California San Diego, Altman Clinical and Translational Research InstituteLa Jolla, California
The CTRI building is a 365,000 sf, nine-story translational research facility with three stories
partially below-grade, including a below-grade loading dock, located on the East Campus. The
building will include wet and dry research laboratories, laboratory support space, a vivarium,
clinical area, offi ces, an auditorium and a cafe. The project will achieve minimum LEED Silver NC
certifi cation and is attempting zero energy strategies.
Grand Canyon University, Events CenterPhoenix, Arizona
The Events Center is a 135,000 sf facility which includes fi xed seating for approximately 5,000
visitors. Built for a variety of activities, the arena hosts men’s and women’s basketball and
volleyball games, as well as concerts, family shows, conferences, and other arena-style events.
Other features include men’s and women’s locker rooms, concession stands, hospitality/club
areas, press workroom, PA/sound control/security room, sound system/CCTV support areas,
lobby, team administration/offi ces, doctor’s exam/treatment room, performer dressing rooms,
loading/staging area, restrooms, and other support areas.
Florida Atlantic University, 600 Bed Residence HallBoca Raton, Florida
600-bed, seven-story residence with four bedroom-two bath and two bedroom-two bath units.
The facility includes activity room, mail room, computer laboratory, event room, fi tness, laundry
facilities, study and multi-purpose rooms, two student lounges, conference rooms, classrooms,
support areas and offi ces. This facility will also contain a food service venue to support two to
three retailers providing meals for students. Plans call for LEED Silver NC certifi cation.

New fi ve-story, 337,000 sf facility provides space for research, instructional laboratories, animal
housing and a teaching hospital. It also provides classrooms and a library in a two-story building
that links several existing unconnected facilities.
San Diego Community College District, Cesar Chavez Campus - Continuing
Education BuildingSan Diego, California
The new building will house classrooms for vocational training, english, adult basic education,
general education diploma preparation, business information technology, parent education and
older education programs. Also included are a multi-purpose room and administrative offi ces.
Plans call for LEED Silver NC registration.
New Academic Building at SUNY School of Public HealthBrooklyn, New York
The new Academic Building will consist of an eight-story, 119,000 sf structure, as well as 6,500
sf of renovations. The project will include classrooms, exam rooms, universal patient rooms,
debriefi ng rooms, offi ces and laboratories.
Boston College, Residence Halls & Dining FacilityChestnut Hill, Massachusetts
Construction management services were provided for two new residence halls and a dining
facility located on the lower campus at Boston College. The residence halls are six-story
structures housing 750 students. The 50,000 sf, two-story dining facility features a dining area
seating 930, kitchen/servery, pizzeria, and banquet and meeting rooms.
University of Southern California, Ronald Tutor Campus CenterLos Angeles, California
194,000 sf, six-level institutional facility with two levels below-grade and four above. The facility
is a mixed-use building consisting of meeting rooms, classrooms, administration and food
services with theme restaurants, dining facilities and lounges. The Campus Center has been
designed and constructed as a green building following the guidelines and principles of the
LEED program and incorporates radiant heating in the outdoor plaza, easily reforested bamboo
wood, trash compactors that separate out biodegradeables, and lighting with motion sensors
and long-life bulbs.
University of San Diego, School of Leadership and Education SciencesSan Diego, California
Two-story education and teaching building including classrooms, offi ce, conference rooms and

Florida International University, Health & Sciences Building Phase IIMiami, Florida
This six-story, 190,000 sf building features research laboratories, classrooms, lab support
space, and faculty and staff offi ces. The new building is the second phase of the two-phased
program and is attached to the previously constructed Phase I via an enclosed bridge at the
third and fourth fl oors.
Stanford University, Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for the Visual ArtsPalo Alto, California
Renovation and historical restoration of the existing museum building originally constructed in
1891. The project includes a new addition, enhancement of the Rodin Sculpture Garden and
addition of new garden areas for contemporary sculpture. Also included is exhibition space for
special exhibitions, and a sculpture terrace, auditorium, bookshop and cafe.
Chestnut Street TowerPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
The Chestnut Street Tower will consist of a 34-story, 481,000 sf student housing facility. It will
contain approximately 289 suites, with 850 bedrooms in total including kitchens, living/dining
areas, laundry rooms and bathrooms.
Mississippi State University, Science and Technology Center Stennis Space Center, Mississippi
This three-story, 40,000 sf steel framed offi ce building will have exterior stucco on a steel
stud backup. The roof will be a low-slope membrane with a metal screen wall to hide roof-
top mechanical equipment. The interior fi nishes are typical of a Class “A” offi ce building. Two
passenger elevators will serve the upper fl oors. A new access road, entry drive, parking lot and
landscaping are included in the scope of work.
Macomb County Community College, University CenterClinton Township, Michigan
The L-shaped, two-story University Center houses classrooms, a 250-seat lecture hall, multi-
purpose lecture room, computer labs, administrative and faculty offi ces, media services area,
lounge and medical rooms. A two-story lobby atrium links both wings of the building.
Princeton University, Roger S. Berlind TheatrePrinceton, New Jersey
Addition to the school’s McCarter Theater and serving as the primary production space for
the theater and dance program. This 27,000 sf, 380-seat proscenium theater includes two
rehearsal halls, offi ces, lobby and production support areas.

Florida Atlantic University, Tom Oxley Athletic CenterBoca Raton, Florida
The athletic center serves as the home and training facility for the University’s men and women
intercollegiate teams. Behind the 40-ft-high curved storefront entry, the building consists of a
100-seat auditorium, a weight room, and a training room consisting of in-house physician’s
offi ce, two in-group whirlpool tubs, a sauna and six taping tables. The facility also includes a
computer and tutorial center, in addition to coaches and administrative offi ces.
Delta State University, Staff HousingCleveland, Mississippi
Construction of a 30-unit apartment complex for staff and faculty. Each building includes modern
interpretations of historic brick, stucco accents, brackets and roofi ng in order to harmonize
with the existing campus. The complex totals 41,000 sf and provides each tenant with the
conveniences of a full modern kitchen, laundry area and two full baths per apartment.
Princeton University, Friend CenterPrinceton, New Jersey
State-of-the-art, 75,000 sf center for engineering education encompassing easily reconfi gured
high-tech classrooms and computer clusters, a distance-learning room set up for video
conferencing, a spacious convocation hall, a 250-seat auditorium and a multi-tiered library.
University of California San Diego, Eleanor Roosevelt College Housing and Dining
FacilitySan Diego, California
Twenty student housing buildings, and three dining and conference buildings, consisting of
466,290 sf. The dining facilities include full-service kitchens with servery, indoor dining area and
outdoor patio area.
Broward Community College, Student AffairsDavie, Florida
The main focal point of this building is its 5,000 sf atrium lobby with terrazzo fl oors, exposed
structural steel bow trusses and 25-ft-tall concrete columns. The facility houses a new cafeteria
and dining area; admissions and fi nancial aid; counseling and deans offi ces; bookstore,
registration and bursars offi ce; student lounge and organization room; and computer lab
classroom and game room.

California Institute of Technology, The Broad Center for the Biological SciencesPasadena, California
The fi ve-story building combines specialized facilities used by each of the life sciences with a
design that brings together the researchers who lead these disciplines. Open-air staircases,
cross-axial hallways, semi-public common areas, and soaring atriums create an intentional mix
of the building’s occupants.
Florida Atlantic University, Arena RemodelBoca Raton, Florida
The FAU Arena at the Boca Raton Campus is a 76,000 sf sports complex. Construction includes
removal and replacement of existing metal decking and roofi ng materials. Remodeling includes
installation of new wood fl ooring, locker rooms, entrance lobbies, team store and offi ce space.
Exterior ground work includes new underground utilities and entrance canopies.
Jackson State University, Johnson Dansby Jackson, Mississippi
This 31,353 sf project included demolition of an existing building and abatement. The new
construction consists of a structural steel frame and brick exterior with cast stone caps and
precast concrete columns. High-end fi nishes throughout the building include a marble staircase,
stone work and glass handrails. The building houses classrooms, research areas, laboratories
and faculty offi ce space.
College of the Holy Cross, Carol and Park B. Smith HallWorcester, Massachusetts
The six-story structure is used for religious studies, administrative offi ces and houses the ITS
department for the college. The design features a two-story atrium that starts at the third fl oor
and extends to the fi fth, and houses the library and chapel areas. The exterior of the building is
brick, cast stone and lead-coated copper clad with a lead-coated copper roof.
University of California Berkeley, Energy Biosciences BuildingBerkeley, California
112,800 sf new laboratory and offi ce building including wet research laboratory space and
research, offi ce and administrative support space. This project is registered as LEED Silver NC,
using the 2009 LEED Rating System.
Delta State University, Student Housing Cleveland, Mississippi
The 90,000 sf, three-level residence hall features 182 dorm rooms for 351 student beds along
with a student lounge, study rooms, laundry facilities, a computer room and circulation areas.
Each building includes modern interpretations of historic brick, stucco accents, brackets and
roofi ng in order to harmonize with the existing campus.

California Institute of Technology, Warren & Katharine Schlinger Laboratory for
Chemistry and Chemical EngineeringPasadena, California
The 62,300 sf, four-story Schlinger Laboratory blends adaptable design and sustainable
construction elements for a contemporary laboratory. Designed with fl exible lab space, research
areas can be adapted or reconfi gured for specifi c uses. Each of the highly specialized research
areas was custom designed to meet the distinct specifi cations of the resident professors. The
laboratory also offers an abundance of ventilated chemical fume hoods, providing a high ratio of
workstations per student or researcher. The building is registered LEED Gold NC.
University of San Diego, Ernest & Jean Hahn Student CenterSan Diego, California
This project is a 55,000 sf building with interior courtyard and includes a servery and dining
room, “Greenhouse Market,” game room, offi ces, and student organizations.
Jackson State University, University PlaceJackson, Mississippi
University Place is a four-story, 90,000 sf, mixed-use development. Three upper levels contain
68,000 sf of residential units for a total of 78 living units. The bottom fl oor contains 22,000 sf of
retail space. Parking for the development is a 188-space surface parking lot.
University of Pennsylvania, 3401 Walnut StreetPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
The 173,000 sf offi ce and retail center borders the edge of the University’s urban campus. The
street level offers retail shops, restaurants and a food court with an outside dining terrace. Upper
offi ce fl oors are occupied by the University.
Northern Michigan University, Superior DomeMarquette, Michigan
The complex, at the time of completion, ranked as the world’s largest wood-domed arena and
was the fourth largest rigid arena in the U.S. The activity area is covered with a synthetic surface
providing a 1/5 mile, six-lane training track, a 200-meter, six-lane competition track, and playing
courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, team handball and tennis. Permanent seating is
provided for 8,000 spectators increasing to 14,000 with removable seating on the fl oor.

The Animal Research Facility is a two-story, 56,000 sf facility housing holding areas for research
animals plus surgery, laboratory and service areas.

The building includes a 330-seat auditorium, multi-purpose and break-out rooms, classrooms,
large conference space, mediation conference center, learning center/recording studio and
food service with indoor-outdoor seating.
Florida International University, Management and Advanced ResearchUniversity Park, Florida
82,000 sf facility with unique architectural features that make it a true campus centerpiece. The
attached main fi ve-story structure contains approximately 60,000 sf of offi ce and classroom
space. The fi rst fl oor has three state-of-the-art graduate business case study rooms. The 22,000
sf conference hall and pre-function lobby overhang the lake and feature a curved monumental
stair.
Mississippi State University, Harned HallStarkville, Mississippi
The project involved full renovation of Mississippi State’s Historical Harned Hall, built in 1921 in
late gothic style. The renovation included full replacement of HVAC and all electric. The exterior
wood windows were painstakingly restored, as well as many existing doors and the massive
existing wood trusses. The exterior brick and precast were restored to the original state. A new
elevator was added, as well as replacement of all existing labs and lab equipment. A lecture hall
with auditorium-style seats, offi ces and classrooms was updated.
Eastern Connecticut State University, South Residential Village I, II and IIIWillimantic, Connecticut
Phased design-build project includes three new student residences housing 750 students. The
fi ve-story freshman dormitory was completed before the fall semester, followed by two upper
class residence halls with suites completed the following fall semester. The South Residential
Village achieved LEED Certifi ed NC.
Villanova University, Residence HallVillanova, Pennsylvania
Five student residence halls were completed for Villanova University including Katherine Hall
and St. Monica Hall housing 164 students in four-story brick buildings with double bedrooms;
Coughlin Hall and Maguire Hall housing 123 students in three-story buildings with double
bedrooms; and Good Counsel Hall housing approximately 240 residents in a three-story co-
educational living environment.
University of Southern California, Harlyne Norris Research TowerLos Angeles, California
This nine-story addition is attached to the main hospital facility and has a new basement and
penthouse central plant, intensive care suites with a total of 44 beds and a 134-bed medical-
surgery unit. Additional features include 11 operating rooms, medical oncology inpatient care, a
satellite pharmacy, and a sterile processing department.

University of California Berkeley, Residence Halls Units 1 & 2Berkeley, California
Four new eight-story dormitory structures totaling 884 beds in three mid-rise residence halls and
one mid-rise apartment building. The scope of work included demolition of the existing dining
facility and reconstruction of the existing basement. The project was designed to meet LEED
Gold NC. Sustainable construction activities were incorporated into the project and included the
use of fl y ash concrete and construction debris recycling.
College of the Holy Cross, Hogan Campus CenterWorcester, Massachusetts
Renovation of 137,000 sf, six-story student center including selective demolition, asbestos
abatement, renovation of offi ces, lounges, conference rooms, ballroom, lobbies, and new entries.
It also included expansion of offi ces, retail and the bookstore on the fi rst fl oor. Mechanical,
electrical and fi re protection systems were replaced.
University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory Argonne, Illinois
The design-build project for a 200,000 sf chemistry facility contains research and teaching
laboratories, faculty offi ces, a 150-seat lecture hall, classrooms, support space and administrative
offi ces.
Louisiana State University, Clinical Science BuildingNew Orleans, Louisiana
This 260,000 sf building houses the clinical research department for LSU Medical Center. The
fi rst and second fl oors house the animal holding facility and the remaining fi ve fl oors consist of
clinical research laboratories.
University of Southern California, Healthcare Consultation Center, Phase IILos Angeles, California
250,000 sf medical offi ce building for the University of Southern California. The main entry is
located at the plaza level on the south, and the ambulance drop off is located on the east face
at lower level two. This exit allows occupants to leave the building by crossing over a steel
assembled walkway that leads to the northernmost stairwell of the building.
Rutgers University, Center at Easton AvenueNew Brunswick, New Jersey
Award-winning 12-story, 562,000 sf mixed-use facility including seven upper levels of apartment-
style dormitory housing, fi ve levels of parking for 960 vehicles, a 6,400 sf fi tness center, and
14,000 sf of University-related retail space at street level.

Five-story building contains underground procedure rooms, holding rooms, and MRI systems.
The above-grade facilities include fi ve fl oors of biology laboratories with fume hoods, equipment

Florida Atlantic University, College of Business ExpansionBoca Raton, Florida
Project consists of site development and construction of a new four-story College of Business
building along with partial demolition and renovation to existing buildings. A new three-story
atrium connects the College of Business building to the existing business buildings.
University of Pennsylvania, Levine HallPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
The new 40,000 sf building provides laboratory and offi ce space for cutting-edge research
activity and allows for the expansion of the faculty. It houses the computer and information
science departments, the robotics lab, a bi-level auditorium, a cyber lounge, and a steel and
glass pavilion for displaying student work.
Birmingham-Southern College, Norton Campus CenterBirmingham, Alabama
This 90,000 sf student center includes a 100-seat theater, Great Hall which provides fl exible
meeting space that can seat 1,200 in an auditorium arrangement and 800 for banquet
seating, dining facility, an expanded bookstore and post offi ce, and private offi ces for student
organizations and publications.
University of Southern California, Ronald Tutor Engineering Research BuildingLos Angeles, California
New 116,000 sf, six-story building that accommodates undergraduate and graduate studies
in information technology, bioengineering and nanotechnology. The fl exible space features
laboratories and research spaces extending from a central core.
University of Florida, Southwest Parking Garage ComplexGainesville, Florida
A six-level, 946-space parking garage with a two-story liner building for the University’s
transportation and parking offi ces. This design-build, certifi ed LEED Gold NC project consisted
of a precast structure on a deep foundation system, with brick accents to match surrounding
facilities and an urban architectural frontage to the adjacent roadway. The triangular shape of the
building conforms to the road while providing an urban edge to the campus.

California State University Monterey Bay, Academic II BuildingSeaside, California
The 85,000 sf, two- or three-story new academic building will house the Schools of Business
and Information Technology & Communication Design (ITCD). Lecture space, faculty offi ces,
conference rooms and ITCD laboratories comprise most of the interior space. The new
building construction will be certifi ed LEED Gold NC as a minimum and will provide many other
sustainable features.
Jackson State University, Campus UnionJackson, Mississippi
The Campus Union Building (CUB) is a 125,000 sf, three-story structure located at the eastern
edge of the campus. It is built on a foundation of pilings and structural concrete and structural
steel supports the building above-grade. The striking exterior utilizes masonry and glass, both
curtain wall and storefront. The CUB houses a large kitchen and dining rooms, a large theatre,
and large ballroom with roof terraces. A separate retail annex structure includes a barber and
beauty shop, and restaurants. The exterior of the building site includes a large plaza and
signifi cant streetscaping along the J.R. Lynch Corridor.
Florida Atlantic University, Lifelong Learning Complex (MacArthur Campus)Jupiter, Florida
Site development and construction of a 16,300 sf building at Florida Atlantic University’s John
D. MacArthur Campus. Major space categories within the building include offi ces, classrooms,
and a 500-seat auditorium.
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, The Molecular FoundryBerkeley, California
The Molecular Foundry is a nanoscience user research facility housing dry and wet labs
for organic and synthetic chemistry research, Class 100 and 1,000 clean room areas for
nanoscience research and a detached central plant. The project received a Gold NC rating.
Villanova University, Connelly Student CenterVillanova, Pennsylvania
This 66,000 sf student center includes dining facilities, game rooms, offi ces, meeting rooms, a
multi-purpose room and a ticket offi ce for campus events. Gray, smooth-faced concrete block
was used to achieve consistency with the graystone heritage of the campus.
Wayne County Community College, Eastern CenterDetroit, Michigan
190,000 sf Eastern Regional Center providing a variety of program-designed areas including a
learning resources complex, a day care center, bookstore and student commons, and career
centers for the building trades, welding, automotive services and diesel technology.

University of Southern Mississippi, Advanced Education Center and LibraryLong Beach, Mississippi
This project included two buildings. The Advanced Education Center is a three-story, 50,681 sf
building with 25 classrooms and a 500-seat auditorium. The library is a three-story, 54,236 sf
building, seven times the size of the previous facility. In addition to media collection areas, reading
rooms, library processing areas and administration space, the building houses classrooms, a
computer laboratory and other amenities.
Thomas Jefferson University, Edison Building and 909 Walnut Clinical Offi ce BuildingPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania
Renovations to the 23-story Edison Building, constructed in approximately 1928, consists of
various improvements on 17 fl oors including demolition, new fi nishes, new partitions, and new
mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Renovations to the 909 Walnut Clinical Offi ce
Building include extensive exterior improvements such as a new entrance canopy, repairs to
stone masonry and façade tile, and installation of new lighting fi xtures and power. Also included
is the complete renovation of the second fl oor neuroscience clinical suite.
University of California Berkeley, Life Sciences Building RenovationBerkeley, California
Constructed in the 1920s, the Life Sciences Building was completely renovated to create
a modern research and teaching facility. All existing building systems were removed before
reconstruction began. Major structural work included a new 12-in-thick, reinforced concrete
inner wall secured to the existing exterior load bearing wall, and other shear walls were also
added. Piped services to laboratories include natural gas, oil free compressed air, industrial hot
and cold water, and one megohm DI water.
Florida Atlantic University StadiumBoca Raton, Florida
The stadium seats approximately 30,000 Owls fans and includes 23 private boxes on two suite
levels, a luxury premier club level, an open air priority club level with cabana bar, and a media-
broadcast pressbox level. The ground level houses the team support area including locker
rooms, coaches offi ces, training facilities, a medical examination room, and recruiting center.
The project is targeted to attain LEED certifi cation.
Birmingham-Southern College, Stephens Science CenterBirmingham, Alabama
This 100,000 sf, state-of-the-art science-laboratory facility is one of the largest and most
extensive facilities for a college campus of its size. The facility includes eight student lounge
areas, more than 1,100 data port connections, 25 offi ces, 19 teaching laboratories, a computer
laboratory, lecture halls, classrooms, seminar rooms, a greenhouse, and a cold environment
room.

University of Southern California, Bovard Administration Building Seismic RenovationLos Angeles, California
Renovation and seismic retrofi t of three-story building built in 1929 without changing its
appearance. Also included was the demolition and removal of existing non-load bearing
partitions, mechanical and electrical systems, fl oor fi nishes and ceiling. The remodeling included
complete tenant improvement.
The University of the South, Spencer HallSewanee, Tennessee
35,000 sf addition to the existing Woods Lab which provides 12 new faculty offi ces and 11
state-of-the-art laboratories for the biology and chemistry departments. The new addition also
includes a public commons gathering space, workrooms, research rooms and seminar rooms
for conferences and group meetings. This project was recently awarded LEED Silver designation
by the U. S. Green Building Council.
Eastern Michigan University, Intramural FacilityYpsilanti, Michigan
Three-story, 180,000 sf building with 50-meter pool built to championship swimming and diving
specifi cations, and seating capacity for more than 800 spectators. Two multi-purpose gyms,
basketball and racquetball courts, a weight room, exercise room and jogging track are also
included.
Florida Atlantic University, Life Behavioral Science ComplexBoca Raton, Florida
The Sanson Biological Sciences Building is a two-story teaching and research laboratory
consisting of ecology labs, life science labs, animal experimental labs, laboratory classrooms,
offi ces and general classrooms. The Psychology Building includes behavioral labs, brain science
labs, vision/computer labs, anatomy labs and a tissue culture lab. The Research Support Facility
houses an animal vivarium and includes cage wash, a necropsy lab, an autoclave and prep
rooms.
Mississippi State University, South HallStarkville, Mississippi
This four-story, 128,000 sf new residence hall is located in the southern portion of campus
adjacent to three existing residence halls and provides housing for 350 students. Each room is
double occupancy with its own bathroom and features wireless internet, study rooms, individual
temperature control and card-reader locks rather than traditional keys. Spaces also include
small food and beverage court, classroom, meeting space along with other support spaces
that complete the living learning community setting. The residence hall has a men’s wing and a
women’s wing with a shared common area.

Five student residence halls were completed for Villanova University including Katherine Hall
and St. Monica Hall housing 164 students in four-story brick buildings with double bedrooms;
Coughlin Hall and Maguire Hall housing 123 students in three-story buildings with double
bedrooms; and Good Counsel Hall housing approximately 240 residents in a three-story co-
educational living environment.
University of San Diego, Donald P. Shiley Center for Science and TechnologySan Diego, California
Four-story building housing 73 teaching and faculty laboratories with over 150 chemical fume
hoods, lecture rooms, classrooms, faculty offi ces, conference rooms, and break rooms. The
structure refl ects 16th Century Spanish Renaissance architecture as required by the University.
Greenville Higher Education Center Greenville, Mississippi
Through this project, three universities – Delta State University, Mississippi Valley State
University and Mississippi Delta Community College – began bringing a diverse curriculum to
Greenville, Mississippi. The 90,000 sf classroom building consists of three fl oors of classrooms,
administrative areas and high technology laboratories. The building itself is a concrete and
structural steel frame with a brick veneer exterior.
University of California Los Angeles, CNSI Court of Sciences BuildingLos Angeles, California
New 188,000 sf facility providing nanosciences research laboratories, laboratory support space,
a 260-seat auditorium, offi ces and conference rooms. Two lower levels house engineering and
low-vibration labs along with an integrated molecular systems facility and two clean rooms. The
third level includes a loading dock and laboratory space which includes state-of-the-art facilities
for bio systems and optical imaging. The fourth level acts as the main level, and levels fi ve
and seven have uniquely designed open lab space. The sixth level provides lab services and
handles future laboratory growth.
California State Polytechnic University, Library Addition, Phase IPomona, California
Five-story, 204,190 sf library addition, renovation of existing library and associated site work.
Florida Atlantic University, Physical Sciences BuildingBoca Raton, Florida
The Physical Science Building assists more than 4,000 science students with state-of-the-art
equipment for the instruction of chemistry, biochemistry, physics, geography and geology with
42 science labs and prep rooms. The three-story, 90,000 sf building is cast-in-place concrete
and features architectural split-face concrete on both exterior and interior.

University of Mississippi, South Residential College Oxford, Mississippi
The Residential College provides 153,000 sf of innovative housing for students, faculty and staff
with 466 beds for students. The college is fully accessible and has six types of room layouts
ranging from a standard double suite to a corner suite of four single rooms. The Residential
College was a 17-month project with a six-day schedule and for two months, operated 24 hours
a day with two crews.
University of California San Diego, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, MESOM
Research LabLa Jolla, California
The new Marine Ecosystem Sensing, Observation and Modeling (MESOM) Laboratory on the
Scripps Institution of Oceanography campus, is a facility to develop a new program to provide
the scientifi c foundations for marine ecosystem forecasting. The facility is a three-story structure
with wet and dry labs, lab support, offi ces and building support. The project is designed for
LEED Gold certifi cation.
University of California San Francisco, Smith Cardiovascular Research InstituteSan Francisco, California
Five-story, 232,000 sf laboratory research building including open wet labs, lab support, offi ces,
vivarium and outpatient facility. The building is targeting LEED Gold NC certifi cation. LEED
features include low-fl ow fi xtures and waterless urinals, Energy Star refl ective roof, diversion of
75% of construction waste, the usage of recycled materials and a three-ft-thick underground
stormwater control gravel basin.
University of Alabama, Law School ExpansionTuscaloosa, Alabama
The 50,000 sf wing was added to the existing building to form an L shape. Each of the three
fl oors of the new wing is aligned with the fl oors of the existing Law Center. The second fl oor
contains teaching spaces including small courtroom classrooms, medium-sized classrooms
and large, tiered lecture halls. These classrooms connect directly into the teaching space in the
existing building. The third fl oor houses faculty offi ces and support space.
University of California Los Angeles, Biomedical Sciences Research Building and
Orthopaedic Hospital Research CenterLos Angeles, California
The UCLA Biomedical Sciences Research Building and Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center
structures were designed to foster a collaborative research environment and include state-of-
the-art technologies to maximize research exploration. Combined, the 230,000 sf buildings
house common open laboratories that are shared among departments.

This two-story, 51,000 sf building includes classrooms, teaching labs, a main circulation
lobby and multiple offi ces including an offi ce for the Dean and Assistant Dean of Science.
Construction methods included concrete tilt wall panels, structural steel columns, beams and
joists, mezzanine slab on metal decking and modifi ed bitumen roofi ng over lightweight concrete.
San Diego Community College, District Vocational Technology CenterSan Diego, California
Five-level, 85,000 sf classroom building and a 10-level, 696-stall parking garage.
Millsaps College, Student Housing Jackson, Mississippi
The Millsaps College dormitory project consisted of three new buildings housing 47 students
each on the Jackson, Mississippi campus. The project included house monitor apartments,
academic study rooms, TV lounges, as well as laundry, kitchen and dining facilities. The project
was approximately 52,500 sf of new construction in three structures. Each three-story building
has an additional basement level with grade access.
Oakland County Community College, Orchard Ridge CampusFarmington Hills, Michigan
The multi-use building houses classrooms, a student activities center, a food service area
including kitchen and cafeteria, two learning laboratories, a book store, and administrative
offi ces. The building was designed and constructed to blend with the architectural styling of
existing buildings bordering the site.
University of Alabama, Bryant-Denny Stadium - North End Zone ExpansionTuscaloosa, Alabama
This eight-story, 235,000 sf expansion includes a new home team locker room, commissary,
recruiting lounge, media room, 1,700-seat club level (now known as The Zone), 38 new luxury
skyboxes, a new 7,100-seat upper deck and a new grand plaza entrance commemorating past
championship teams and coaches.
Jackson State University, Campbell College ApartmentsJackson, Mississippi
The Campbell College Apartments offer two, 5-story buildings containing 137 two-, three- and
four-bedroom apartments. The apartments share a common living room, kitchen and two
baths. Each bedroom is secured with an electronic key card access system. The two buildings
contain 189,000 sf of conditioned space and sit on each side of an attractive courtyard. The
courtyard’s retaining walls include seating and pavers that were used extensively throughout the
area to create an extension of the living space from each building.

This four-level cancer center includes a basement that houses seven linear accelerators,
accommodating the radiation oncology department and associated support space. The
fi rst through third fl oors house clinics, diagnostic services, learning centers, treatment units,
ambulatory treatment, and outpatient surgery.

100,000 sf science building housing classrooms, labs and associated preparation areas for
chemistry, biology and physical science departments. Registered LEED Silver NC.
University of Southern Mississippi, Performing Arts CenterHattiesburg, Mississippi
The 82,000 sf Performing Arts Center consists of two fl oors and has three auditoriums. The
Tatum Auditorium seats an audience of 274, and the Woods Mini-Proscenium holds 84 people.
The fi rst fl oor is structural concrete and the second fl oor and roof are steel frame with modifi ed
bitumen built-up roofi ng. The exterior veneer is masonry and pre-cast. The facility is used to
house the School for Theater and Dance.

The new track and fi eld facility was built on the site of the previous track and includes a state-
of-the-art synthetic track surface, an artifi cial turf fi eld surface and facilities for all fi eld events.
The University of Mississippi, Vaught-Hemingway Stadium AdditionOxford, Mississippi
This project consisted of enclosing the South End Zone, adding 28 new luxury suites on two
fl oors, an additional 2,288 stadium seats with backs and 14,000 bleacher seats. The concrete
structure addition contains GFRC cladding on the elevator shaft and metal panels on the
exterior. The stand in seam metal roof protects the spectators from the elements.
