As we come to the end of the year, we review the year that was and look forward to your input for the 2016 season. Southern Tasmanian Kart Club November 2015 State Titles Wrap up LKC put on a smooth race meeting, with the sun shinning, the Tasmanian drivers grid- ded up for the biggest meeting of the year, all eyes on the prestigious Blue Plate. The STKC members had some strong results and plenty of podium finishers. Showing im- pressive pace all weekend, Evan Livingston of Birel/Kartsport.com managed to avoid carnage at the start of the X30 light final and came across the line first! Scoring a well earnt Blue Plate. A first for Livingston but certainly wont be his last! Tag Light saw 2 STKC members on the podium with Brad Hobden in 2nd and Tabatha Badger taking out a close battle for 3rd. As always the over 40’s fastest and hardest racers, Scotty Hilyard and Steve Crocker, fought all weekend with the mainlands Peter ONeil and made podium appearances, 2nd and 3rd respectively. Jonathan Mcdonald continued his strong form in Clubman Heavy, placing 2nd.

Southern Tasmanian Kart Club November 2015

State Titles Wrap up

LKC put on a smooth race meeting, with the sun shinning, the Tasmanian drivers grid-

ded up for the biggest meeting of the year, all eyes on the prestigious Blue Plate. The

STKC members had some strong results and plenty of podium finishers. Showing im-

pressive pace all weekend, Evan Livingston of Birel/Kartsport.com managed to avoid

carnage at the start of the X30 light final and came across the line first! Scoring a well

earnt Blue Plate. A first for Livingston but certainly won’t be his last! Tag Light saw 2

STKC members on the podium with Brad Hobden in 2nd and Tabatha Badger taking

TwinTrack Challenge The Twin Track Challenge saw a new and exciting race format with competitors

racing the track anti-clockwise Saturday then clock-wise Sunday. The meeting

incorporated the inaugural Ian Harrington Memorial and Rising Stars Award.

Those who didn’t get blown away Saturday set some great lap times. Zhane Rip-

per broke the TagR Heavy Record, while the juniors set out to prove their skills in

front of the Rising Stars Judges.

Tate Frost and Lachie Dalton battled hard weekend long. It came down to the last

3 laps in the final but Frost proved too hot for his rival, taking the race win and

becoming the 2015 Rising Star.

Up and coming Rising Star went to Cadet 9 driver, Darcy Whelan, who won was

setting fastest lap times all weekend.

Gate Key The club is in the process of a change over in gate keys for financial members.

We are endeavoring to control numbers of current and non members with access

to the track. The change over will begin at the Christmas Club Day (Dec 13th), so

please bring along your gate keys!

Cadetship Open The club wish to advise a position for a Cadetship has opened up. If anyone

knows any new or prospective members interested please contact Wally for more

information, 0438 909 860.

New Website

The club is investing in an exciting new website. Stay tuned, coming early next

year.

Australian Kart Championship STKC had a strong presents in the de-

but of the Australian Karting Series. For

the first time the championship was held

over 5 rounds, touring the best tracks in

the country, boosting the performance

of the new KA and MiniRok engines.

Starting the year in KA12, young talent

Callum Bisholp was the front running

Tassie driver. He scored points in al-

most every round, finishing mid-pack in

the overall standings, while Jesse Keel-

ing had his work cut out, learning new

tracks and improving his driving skills to

match those of the best in the country.

Tabatha Badger was the sole senior

representative from the club in the new

KA1 class.

Reminders

Come and Try Day

This Saturday, a come and try day, any club members who are able to lend a helping

hand would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Wally if you can help or know some-

one interested in getting into karting, 0438 909 860.

Club Day

Sunday 29th November. Anyone who could lend a hand for the day or even just a race it

would be greatly appreciated.

Practice

A reminder for those wishing the utilize the Christmas break for practice YOU MUST

HAVE A MINIMUM OF AN E GRADE LICENSE//YOU MUST BE A FINANCIAL

MEMBER to use the track.

Rotax Series Callum Bisholp ventured to the mainland for the Rotax Series in the MIniMax

class. He quickly showed the mainlanders he was a force to be reckoned with,

scoring a podium at the First round. Although moving to juniors at the back end of

the year Callum had still gained enough series points to finish an impressive 6th!
