Never underestimate the impact of a small group of people. They
can literally change the world! Such is the case with Mrs. Adeline
Trahan’s family, made up of three children, eight grandchildren
and 19 great-grandchildren. In loving memory of Mrs. Adeline on
(what would have been) her 75th birthday, the family donated
$750 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association: The Longest Day.
Her story started many years ago as a local girl from Esterwood. She
grew into a positive role model for those who knew her and a very
cherished memory of her family. Alzheimer’s Disease steals lots of
things, but it can’t rob her of her beautiful and lasting legacy.
Let’s all be like the Trahan family and support the Alzheimer’s
Association...so that one day we can find our first survivor!

Southwind resident, Ms. Josephine Clark,
greeted a few special surprise visitors last
month at our facility! Her granddaughter, her
granddaughter’s mother, and her two great-
grandchildren dropped by to visit with Ms.
Josephine and brighten her day.
Southwind residents gathered one very hot
summer afternoon to create one of Mother
Nature's most beloved 'bugs', the butterfly. With
the use of coffee filters, markers, pipe cleaners,
clothespins and their imaginations, they really
came up with some beautiful creatures to hang
in each of their rooms.
Southwind’s entire staff and beloved residents enjoyed a delicious Fourth of July
barbecue. The barbecue was complete with all the trimmings and was followed by
juicy, ice-cold watermelon. Everyone in attendance seemed to enjoy their day as
we honored the good ol’ USA. We would like to thank our administrator Jerad and
all our team members who helped make this a most memorable holiday!
Mr. Allen Bourgeois spent some time recently
with our residents. Our loved ones felt very
blessed that he came to sing ‘Songs About
Jesus’ and to spread the Good Word. They
greatly enjoyed Mr. Allen’s singing and
prayer.
