Indian Removal Act

• This act was put into place by Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830

Five Civilized Tribes

• These were the five Native American tribes that had to walk the trail of tears.

Indian Territory

• This territory was designated for the Indians after Andrew Jackson removed them from their homes.

American Dream

• The Trail of Tears has to do with the American dream because the Native Americans dreamed of freedom and they did not want to move.
