June 24 - Mini Triathlon, 6:30 am. Come out and join us for our annual Mini Triathlon! This will begin at the Aquatic Center with check in at 5:30 a.m., start tme 6:30 a.m. Ages groups are 18 - 25, 26 - 35, 36 - 45 and 46 and older, with men’s and women’s categories. Food and prizes will be provided at the event with a special prize for overall first place.

June 29 - Frisbee Golf, 11 a.m. Join the fitness staff and the Base Health Promotion Coordinator at the Golf Course for 9 holes of Frisbee Golf. Tee times will start at 11 a.m. with tee times every 15 minutes thereafter. Sign up as an individual, men’s or women’s catergories, or sign up as a team of two. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each cat-egory and the first 35 participants to show up will be gifted a Frisbee golf set from the Health Promotion Coordinator.

Volunteers Needed Volunteers are needed for these events, if inter-ested please contact the Fitness Staff at 773-6199. Assistance is greatly appreciated.

Event Participation Participants must be 18 and over and may be de-pendents, active duty, reserve, guard, retirees or civil servants. Events will be cancelled if we do not receive sign-ups by the deadlines provided. Please make sure to sign up if the event requires it!

June 7, Creative Kids Cor-ner, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. The first Wednesday of each month, the Arts and Crafts Center will be hosting a different art project for toddlers and moms (or dads). Cost is $5 per child. We will be making a Father’s Day Frame. This is a drop in class - no need to register.

June 14, After School Cook-ies and Crafts, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Have fun with this great after school activity and enjoy some snacks and creative expression. We will be mak-ing Father’s Day Picture Blocks. Bring your own pictures, 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 Sign. Cost is $8. Pre pay and register by June 9.

June 16, Corks & Crafts, 6 - 8 p.m. Enjoy some wine, snacks and lots of fun!! We will be making Uni-form Wreaths. Cost is $25 per person or $35 for a couple (one project). Sign up and pay by June 13.

5 - 8 p.m. Enjoy some casual laser tag games outside at Fall Hall. Games included will be Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, and Team Deathmatch. Wear a hat to clip the sensors on.

p.m. Play Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, Ticket to Ride, Monopoly, Krosmaster Arena, Tabletop Wargames and much more! Bring your friends and family, meet some new folks, and enjoy some games over at Fall Hall. This event happens every week on Thurs-days and is an excellent way to meet some people on base who enjoy your same hobbies.

June 24 - Family Water Play Day, noon - 2 p.m. Outdoor water games! The inflatable water slide will be up, we will have lots of water balloons for games, and a field set up for slip-n-slide kickball! Come in your bathing suit and bring a towel.

June 30 - Halo Night, 5 - 7 p.m. We will be hosting a Halo 3 Tournament at Fall Hall. Games will consist of 30 min. timed Slayer games with default rules. Winner gets $10 Awake Coffee Gift Card.

June 3 - Climbing Clinic with Chelsea Rude Climb with a pro! Chel-sea Rude will be presenting a climb-ing clinic at our rock wall, time will be updated on our Facebook page as the event draws near. Chelsea is currently ranked in the top 10 in the world for both sport climbing and bouldering. To-day, Chelsea is a coach for a local youth team in Boulder, where she is both a trainer and mentor to those starting their climbing career.

June 10 - Climbing at EVO Rock + Fitness in Louisville, Colorado Join us for a day of climbing at one of the most modern and extensive indoor climbing walls in the local area. With 25,000 square feet of climbing surface, there is something for everyone at all

levels of ability: beginner, intermediate, advanced lead climbing, speed climbing and bouldering. Participants who have experience with rock climbing must take a top rope belay test when they arrive if they plan on belaying in the facility. Once you pass the test, you are able to use all the top rope climbing stations in the facility. Guests wishing to lead climb and lead belay will need a separate lead test. You are required to first pass the top rope belay test and be proficient at climbing 5.9 or above before you are able to take a lead test. Trip fee is $20 includes transportation, harnesses, shoes and belay devices.

June 10 - Butterfly Pavilion and Celestial Seasonings Tea Tour From raw ingredients to finished products, you’ll learn all about the wonderful world of tea and see how the whole-some products are blended, packaged and shipped. You’ll never look at tea the same way again! Join us for a 45 minute tour of the Celestial Seasonings tea factory in beautiful Boulder, Colo-rado. After the tour we plan to stop at the Butterfly Pavilion tropical rainfor-est where 1,600 butterflies rule the sky! Show time at Outdoor recreation is 9:30 a.m.; we should return NLT 7 p.m. Fee is $15 for transportation and the tours. Bring money for food.

June 17 - 18 - Niobrara Float Trip The Niobrara River is rated as one of the top 10 best canoeing rivers in the United States with speeds averag-ing from 4 to 7 mph and depths av-eraging 18” to 24” inches. Along your trip by way of tube, canoe or kayak through the canyons of the northern Sand hills of Nebraska you will encoun-ter 6 different ecosystems, waterfalls (including Smith Falls? and a wide vari-ety of wildlife. Reserve your trip today and find out why over 60,000 people a year rave about the Niobrara National Scenic River. The float will be approxi-mately 6 - 8 hours long from Berry Bridge to Rocky Ford. June 24 - 25 - USAFA Rafting in Bighorn Sheep Canyon Keep your eyes peeled for the bighorn sheep and amazing rapids like Three Rocks, Satan’s Suck Hole and more! This trip is fun for all ages! Due to the distance between F.E. Warren and the put-in location on the Arkansas River, this trip needs to depart quite early on Satur-day, then we’ll be camping overnight with a Sunday afternoon return. Cost is $80/Adult $60/Child (ages 12 and younger).

June 26 - Basic Recreational Ad-venture Training (BRAT) Camp for Ages 6 to 9 Start the kid’s summer vacation off with Outdoor Recreation, planned activities for the week include archery, water safety, kayaking, canoe-ing, biking, hiking, bouldering. Drop kids off between 8 - 8:15 a.m., pick up at 4 p.m. NOTE: BRAT Camp is not a daycare! Camp includes all technical equipment, instruction, and lunch on the final day. Participants will have to provide their own lunch all other days. Parents are welcome to participate if space is available for free! Cost will be $200 per child for the week.

July 1 - 3 - Wind River Hiking Trip Day 1: Meet at Big Sandy Trail-head in the southwestern Wind River Range around noon. Have a sack lunch (provided), a short trip orientation, and insure that everyone has all neces-sary items. Leave Big Sandy Trailhead about 2 p.m. and hike to the Big Sandy Lake area on the southern side of the Cirque of Towers. Arrive 5 - 6 p.m., set up camp and have dinner.

Day 2: Have breakfast at 7:30 a.m., get a sack lunch, and prepare to leave camp to hike up Mitchell Peak and travel to Jackass Pass on the edge of the Cirque of Towers. Return to camp 5 - 6 p.m and have dinner.

Day 3: Have breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and prepare to leave camp by 9 a.m. Hike seven miles and arrive back at Big Sandy Trailhead between 12 - 1 p.m. Leave Big Sandy Trailhead 2 p.m. and arrive back in Cheyenne between 7 - 8 p.m. Cost is $75 per person and in-cludes all the equipment you will need, food and transportation. Don’t miss out on an adventure of a lifetime.
