Task 1: Clean a stairwell, bathroom and corridor This task is about keeping yourself and others safe at work. Your observer will complete the following observation form for your cleaning of a stairwell, bathroom and corridor. They will be observing the way you use safety equipment such as barriers and signs to keep others safe. They also need to see that you take care to protect your back from injury.
Your observer may ask questions about what you are doing or what you have done previously and the equipment and cleaning products used. The observer may have recently seen you do one or more of these tasks. If so, they can record on the form evidence previously seen, heard, documented or filed.
To complete this task, you need to:
clean a stairwell, bathroom and corridor.
use signs and barriers correctly when you are cleaning.
use equipment correctly to avoid injury.
work safely to avoid injury.
answer questions about risks, hazards and injury prevention.
