TRAINING-CUM--EXPOSURE VISIT ON AGRIBUSINESS, AGROPROCESSING & AGRI-VALUE CHAINS IN MALAYSIA 13-20 MAY 2017 BIRD, Lucknow has conducted its first International Training cum Exposure Visit for the year 2017-18, on Agribusiness, Agro-processing and Agri-value Chains in Malaysia from 13 th May to 20 th May 2017. The programme was organised jointly with Centre of Integrated Rural Development in Asia and Pacific (CIRDAP) and Institute For Rural Advancement (INFRA), Malaysia. The programme received an overwhelming response with 30 confirmed nominations. Finally 26 officials from NABARD, RBI, RRBs, Cooperative Banks, Commercial Banks, Government Organisations and private agencies participated in the programme. The participants included a few senior officials including Mission Director & Additional Secretary, Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission, General Manager, PNB, Board Members of Gujarat State Cooperative Bank & Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank Ltd, etc. The programme started at NABARD Regional office, Kolkata on 13 th May 2017 with inauguration by Shri AK Raybarman, Chief General Manager. He welcomed the participants and briefed them about the challenges in Agribusiness in India. Shri SK Mazumdar, General Manager and Shri CS Nanda, Deputy General Manager with their team also graced the session. A session on ‘Agribusiness, Agro- processing and Agri-Value Chains in India’ was handled by Shri Bidyut K Basu, DGM (retd) and former faculty BIRD Luckow. During their visit to Malaysia, the participants interacted with the officials of various agencies including Malaysian Agriculture Research & Development Institute (MARDI), Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA), Farmers Organisation Authority (FOA), Malaysia Cooperatives Societies Commission (MCSC), Agro Bank etc. The participants also had field visits in Kuala Lumpur and Cameroon Highlands. The participants have expressed high appreciation for the programme.

BIRD, Lucknow has conducted its first International Training cum Exposure Visit for the year 2017-18,

on Agribusiness, Agro-processing and Agri-value Chains in Malaysia from 13th May to 20th May 2017.
