SAGE’S TRAINING SOLUTIONS

Training requirements to achieve statusTo ensure all of our Business Partners are fully trained and certified on Sage’s software, as well as up-to-date with the latest software upgrades, Sage has put together a comprehensive list of training requirements for the different products offered.

Refer to the specific product sections in this document to find a detailed explanation of the requirements and the impact for status levels.

Bundle OffersAs achieving full certification can be costly, especially when hiring new staff, Sage have put together comprehensive bundles to ensure training can be accessed affordably.

CertificationSome our courses form part of product specific curriculums and to facilitate this process courses might refer to one of the following:

1. Free up your resources by sending your customers to Sage’s Training Centres. Sage will invoice you according to the discount associated with your status level.

2. Purchase training material from Sage when conducting on-site training with your customers. Sage will invoice you according to the discount associated with your status level.

AccreditationCertain courses offered by Sage are accredited by the FASSET SETA (Finance, Accounting, Management Consulting and other Financial Services) and are aligned to Unit Standards and National Qualifications Framework (NQF) levels 4 and 5 respectively. A Unit Standard is a registered statement of desired education and training outcomes and its associated assessment criteria, together with administrative and other information as specified in the regulations.

Each unit standard has a credit value which is equivalent to 10 hours of notional learning. Notional learning time is the learning time that it would take an average learner to meet the outcomes defined. It includes concepts such as contact time, time spent in structured learning in the workplace and individual learning.

Look out for the Certification Icon to identify the NQF level associated with a particular course.

Methods of StudyE-learning is the favoured self-study learning option which presents the user with a graphic, interactive user interface through which to conduct their studies.

Classroom study is Sage’s most popular training method. Classes of 6-16 individuals are facilitated by a qualified trainer.

Self-studying through a manual allows the user to complete the content presented in classroom training at their own pace.

In certain cases, only classroom study is available.

7. TERMS &CONDITIONS1. Bookings and Payments:a. Seats are allocated on a first pay-first served

basis and are secured on receipt of payment and booking forms only.

b. Payment is required when submitting the booking form.

c. Payment needs to be made 48 hours after receiving your booking number.

d. Sage will not make any refunds.

2. Training Course Duration: a. Training usually starts at 09h00 and finishes at

16h30. Registration opens at 08h30.b. Some courses are ½ day courses so the times

will be different.c. Times may change to suit students and more

time may be allocated or removed if need be.d. Delegates arriving after 09h30 for training will

not be allowed to attend training and will not be refunded the course fee.

3. Seminars/Workshops:a. Seminar and Workshop times may vary

depending on type and duration, so please take special note of the registration times above.

b. Meals and Snacks are not served at Seminars and Workshops.

4. Course Material: a. All course material is included in the classroom

course fee.b. No additional free manuals will be supplied if

you lose/forget your manual when attending a course.

c. Learners are required to bring their own consumable items such as a writing pad, pens etc. to classroom training.

5. Assessments: a. The assessment fee has been included in the

classroom training fees.b. Assessments are mandatory in order to obtain

certification for attending a course.c. The pass mark for an assessment is 75% and

80% for Sage Evolution assessments.d. Assessments are all web-based, which means

the student requires a PC with internet access to write the assessment.

e. Students have 6 months in which to write their assessments from the day they attend the training or when they receive their self-study training kits.

f. Penalties will be charged for students who miss the 6 month deadline. No extensions will be granted after missing the penalties deadline. Students would need to re-attend the course.

g. Students need to write their assessment at their own venue / home.

h. However, should the student choose to write their assessment at another Sage ATC, or come back at a later stage to write their assessment, the ATC reserves the right to charge them for administration and PC / internet usage fees at their discretion.

i. Refresher & Bridging accreditation assessments will be based on the previous and current version.

j. Certificates will be emailed to the student only once the student passes their assessment.

k. Sage will charge for certificate reprints with spelling mistakes, incorrect ID numbers etc.

l. Sage Intelligence Assessments are valid for 4 weeks only from the date of log-in activation where a welcome email will be sent through to the delegate.


6. Cancellations: a. No cancellations will be accepted. The full

course fee will be charged - although substitutions may be made.

b. Sage reserves the right to cancel any course should there be an insufficient number of delegates booked for a course.

c. Students will forfeit the course fee if they have booked to attend the incorrect course.

7. Postponements: a. Postponements must be faxed and/or emailed

to the Training Department at least 10 working days prior to the course commencement date. A postponement can only be confirmed if we are advised in writing, email [email protected] or fax 011 304 3671 and we have confirmed the postponement with the student directly.

b. Only one postponement will be allowed, after which the course will be considered as attended.

c. Course postponements need to be utilised within a period of 3 months.

8. Absent Delegates:a. In the event that a delegate does not arrive for

the course and no written confirmation was received and confirmed 10 days prior to the course commencement date, the full course fee will be payable.

9. Facilitators:a. Sage reserves the right to substitute the

facilitator should it be necessary.

10. Training Venue:a. Sage reserves the right to move training to

another training venue should it be necessary.

11. Drinks and Mealsa. Drinks and/or meals are not mandatory and will

therefore not be served with all our training courses.

b. Drinks and/or meals are standard. Learners that have special dietary requirements are required to bring their own delectables.
