Druck was established in 1970 to develop and manufacture silicon diaphragm piezoresistive pressure transducers for the aerospace industry−jet engine development and wind tunnels. Druck was acquired by GE in 2002 for its measurement and control product line.

Incorporating Druck transducer expertise, the first Druckportable pressure calibrator, the DPI 600, was introduced in July 1981.

Since then, more than 200,000 DPI 600 Series calibrators have been sold, including the highly successful DPI 610.
