Koperattivi Malta has applied for European Union Funds under the
Lifelong Learning Programme - Leonardo da Vinci - Transfer of
Innovation to Activate and Implement ECVET for Transparency
and Recognition of Learning Outcomes and Qualifications in
the European Agricultural Sector.
This project is based on the VET (Vocational Education and Training)
notion, which is becoming increasingly important.
Koperattivi Malta is coordinating and leading the programme.

Aims of project: Bring together education, training and agricultural activity, to render
positive results for the competitiveness of the agricultural sector;
To add professionalism to the sector for the sustainable success of the European agricultural enterprise
To encourage farmers to take training in the agricultural sector
Encouraging transparency and recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications in the European agricultural sector
To encourage young people to work in the agriculture sector through this training program
To enable European mobility, pursuit of new opportunities and exchange of best practices.

Agriculture is a sector of utmost importance to the European Union
A strong agricultural sector is vital for the highly competitive food industry,
The European Union is the leading world exporter of agricultural produce
Agriculture also has a positive contribution on the natural environment.
Number of farmers is on the decline.
Employees within the agricultural industry are unable to reap the full benefits from their informal work experience as this is not being recognized

Public authorities
100 individuals across Europe, of which 25 are from Malta, will be participating in this project.
Programme will be a pilot project that, if successful, will be recognised and applied across Europe.
